985 - أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الحافظ ثنا الحسن بن محمد بن إسحاق قال : سمعت أبا عثمان الحناط قال : سمعت ذا النون و شكا إليه رجل السبات فقال له : لو خفت البيات لم غلبك السبات ثم أنشأ ذو النون يقول : تحل لمولاك بالطاعة و البس له قناع ذل الفاقة يرى اهتماهك ببلوغ رضوانه فيؤديك بذلك منازل الأبرار 985 - مكرر ـ و بإسناده قال : سمعت ذا النون يقول : ثلاث من أعلام الخوف : الورع عن الشبهات بملاحظة الوعيد و حفظ اللسان من مراقبة النظر العظيم و دوام الكمد إشفاقا من غضب الحليم

992 - أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الحافظ قال : سمعت أبا عبد الله محمد بن العباس يقول أنا أحمد بن محمد بن سعيد الحافظ ثنا أبو جعفر الشامي ثنا عبد الله بن عاصم الهروي : أن شيخا دخل على عبد الله بن المبارك فرآه على وسادة خشنة مرقعة قال : فأردت أن أقول له فرأيت به من الخشية حتى رحمته فإذا هو يقول قال الله عز و جل : { قل للمؤمنين يغضوا من أبصارهم } قال : لم يرض الله أن ننظر إلى محاسن المرأة فكيف بمن يزني بها و قال الله عز و جل : { ويل للمطففين } في الكيل و الوزن فكيف بمن يأخذ المال كله ؟ و قال الله عز و جل : { و لا يغتب بعضكم بعضا } و نحو هذا فكيف بمن يقتله ؟ قال : فرحمته و ما رأيته فيه فلم أقل له شيئا
