961 - أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الحافظ أنا الحسن بن محمد بن إسحاق ثنا أبو عثمان سعيد بن عثمان قال : سمعت السري يقول : قلت لبعض العباد : ما الذي أنصب العباد و أخشاهم قال : ذكر المقام و خوف الحساب ثم قال لي : يا أبا الحسن و لم لا تذوب أبدان العباد و الزهاد و الخدام فزعا و القيامة أمامهم و لهم في يومها ما قد علموا ثم صاح صيحة أفزعتني ثم قال : يا أبا الحسن من لي في ذلك الموقف ؟ و من لتحسري تلذذي و لجوعي و لعطشي ؟ ثم قال إليك يا أبا الحسن فقد حركت مني ساكنا و أبرزت مني غما كامنا ثم صاح فقال و أطول وقفتاه ! واتحسراه واثقل ظهراه من حمل الذنوب و المظالم و الخطايا و أوساخ العيوب ! ثم قال : أوه من حملها ! أوه من ذكرها ! أوه من ثقلها ! أوه من إقراري بها على نفسي ! ثم استرجع فقال : سيدي ! فأين سترك الجميل القديم سيدي ؟ و أين حلمك سيدي ؟ فأين عفوك سيدي ؟ فأين فضلك المعتمد به لعبادك سيدي ؟ فاستنقذني و برحمتك فسلمني ثم بكى و أبكانا معه فتركته و هو باك حزين فزع القلب و إنصرفت عنه

965 - أخبرنا أبو عبد الله الحافظ حدثني علي بن عيسى بن إبراهيم ثنا أبو يحيى زكريا بن داود الخفاف حدثني أحمد بن الخليل البغدادي بنيسابور حدثني يحيى بن أيوب قال : دخلت مع زافر بن سليمان على الفضيل بن عياض بالكوفة فإذا الفضيل و شيخ معه ـ قال : فدخل زافر و أقعدني على الباب ـ قال زافر و أقعدني على الباب ـ قال زافر : فجعل الفضيل ينظر إلي ثم قال : يا أبا سليمان هؤلاء أصحاب الحديث ليس شيء أحب إليهم من قرب الإسناد ألا أخبرك بإسناد لا شك فيه رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم عن جبريل عليه السلام عن الله تعالى : { نارا وقودها الناس و الحجارة عليها ملائكة غلاظ شداد } قرأ الآية فأنا و أنت يا أبا سليمان من الناس قال : ثم غشي عليه و على و على الشيخ و جعل زافر ينظر إليهما قال : ثم تحرك الفضيل فخرج زافر و خرجت معه و الشيخ مغشي عليه

966 - أخبرنا أبو الحسين بن الفضل أنا عبد الله بن جعفر ثنا يعقوب بن سفيان ثنا عمرو بن عاصم ثنا همام عن قتادة قال : سأل عامر بن عبد الله ربه عز و جل أنه يهون عليه الطهور في الشتاء فكان يؤتى بالماء له بخار و سأل ربه أن ينزع شهوة النساء من قلبه فكان لا يبالي ذكرا لقي أو أنثى و سأل ربه أن يحول بين الشيطان و بين قلبه في الصلاة فلم يقدر على ذلك و كان إذا غزا فيقال له هذه الأجمة نخاف عليك فيها الأسد قال : إني لأستحي من ربي أن أخشى غيره

967 - أخبرنا أبو نصر بن قتادة ثنا أبو حامد أحمد بن الحسين الهمداني القاضي ببلخ إملاء ثنا أبو بكر الأنباري حدثني أبي ثنا حماد بن الحسن النهشلي الوراق ثنا محمد بن بشر المكي قال : كنا يوما ماضين مع علي بن الفضيل فمررنا بمجلس بني الحارث المخزومي و معلم يعلم الصبيان قال و يقرأ : { ليجزي الذين أساؤوا بما عملوا ويجزي الذين أحسنوا بالحسنى } فشهق ابن فضيل شهقة خر مغشيا عليه فجاء الفضيل فقال : بأبي قتيل القرآن ! ثم حمل فحدثني بعض من حمله أن الفضيل أخبره أن عليا ابنه لم يصل ذلك اليوم الظهر و لا العصر و لا المغرب و لا العشاء فلما كان في جوف الليل أفاق

970 - أخبرنا أبو الحسين بن بشران أنا إسحاق بن أحمد الكارزي ثنا عبد الله بن أحمد بن حنبل ثنا سفيان بن وكيع ثنا أبو بكر يعني ابن عياش عن الأعمش عن زيد بن وهب قال : خرجنا في سرية فإذا رجل في أجمة نائم مغطى الرأس قال فأنبهناه و قلنا لأنت في موضع مخيف فما تخاف فيه ؟ فكشف عن رأسه و قال : إني لأستحي منه أن يراني أخاف أحدا سواه رواه أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن شقيق قال : خرجنا في ليلة مخوفة فمررنا برجل نائم في أجمة قد قيد فرسه وهي ترعى عند رأسه فأيقظناه و قلنا له : تنام في هذا المكان ؟ قال : فرفع رأسه و قال : إني لأستحي من ذي العرش أن يعلم أني أخاف شيئا دونه
