سیدنا عمر وبن العاص رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے غذوہ ذات السلاسل سے واپسی پر نبی کریم ﷺ سے عرض کیا "یا رسول اللہ ﷺ آپ کو سب سے زیادہ محبوب انسان کون ہے ؟ فرمایا عائشہ میں نے عرض کیا مردوں میں سے کون ہے فرمایا انکے والد (یعنی سیدنا ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ )۔(1)

سیدنا عمار بن یاسر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ان سے فرمایا: عمار ! میرے پاس جبرائیل آئے ، میں نے کہا : جبرائیل ! مجھے آسمانوں میں عمر کی فضیلتیں بیان کرو، جبرائیکل نے کہا : اے محمد ﷺ اگر میں عمر بن خطاب کے فضائل جو آسمان میں ہیں ان کوسیدنا نوح ؑ کے اپنی قوم کی طرف دور بعثت یعنی ساڑھے نو سو سال کے عرصہ کے برابر تک بیان کرتا رہوں تب بھی انہیں شمار نہیں کر سکتا اور عمر ابو بکر کی ایک چھوٹی سے فضیلت کی مثال ہے ۔ (2)

سیدنا انس بن الک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا : میں (خواب کی حالت میں ) جنت میں داخل ہوا پھر میں نے ایک محل دیکھا کر پوچھا : جبریل ! یہ کس کا ہے ؟ جبرائیل نے کہا : عمر بن خطاب (رضی اللہ عنہ) کا ، پھر میں تھوڑا سا آگے چلا تو میں نے پہلے سے بھی زیادہ خوبصورت محل دیکھا۔ میں نے پوچھا : جبرائیل ! یہ کس کا ہے ؟ جبرائیل نے کہا : عمر بن خطاب کا میں نے اس مین ایک خوبصورت آنکھوں والی حور دیکھی اے ابو حفص صرف آپکی غیرت نے مجھے اس محل میں داخل ہونے سے روک دیا ۔ یہ سن کر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ آب دیدہ ہو گئے اور عرض کیا : یا رسول اللہ ﷺ میرے ماں باپ آپ ﷺ پر قربان ہوں کیا بھلا میں آپ ﷺ پر غیرت کروں گا۔ ؟(3)

سیدنا ثابت سے روایت ہے کہ جب سیدنا عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے سیدنا ابو سفیان رضی اللہ عنہ کی بیٹی کے لیے نکاح کا پیغام بھیجا تو انہوں نے رشتہ دینے سے انکار کیا، اس پر رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا : مدینہ کے گرد و نواح میں عمر سے بہتر شخص کوئی نہیں ہے ۔ (4)

سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ سیدنا عمر نے فرمایا : میں نے تین چیزوں میں اپنے رب سے موافقت کی ہے۔1۔میں نے عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ﷺ آپ مقام ابراہیم کو نماز کی جگہ کیوں نہیں بناتے ؟تو اللہ نے یہ آیت نازل فرمائی (واتخذوامن مقام ابراہیم مصلی)۔2۔میں عرض کیا یا رسول اللہ ﷺ کاش !آپ امہات المومنین کو پردے کا حکم دیں ؟ اس لیے کہ آپ کے پاس نیک و بد دونوں طرح کے لوگ آتے جاتے ہیں چنانچہ اللہ نے آیت حجاب نازل فرمائی ۔ 3۔رسول اللہ ﷺ کی ازواج مطہرات غیرت کرتے ہوئے آپ کے پاس جمع ہوئیں تو میں نے ان سے کہا : (آپ اس بات سے باز آجائیں ورنہ ) اللہ آپ سے بہتر بیویاں نبی کریم ﷺ کو عطا فرمائے گا اس کی تائید میں اللہ رب العزت نے اسی طرح حکم نازل فرمایا ۔ (2)
