سیدنا عبد اللہ بن عمر سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا سب سے پہلے زمین میرے لیے شق کی جائے گی میں ابو بکر و عمر کے درمیان اٹھایا جاؤں گا اور بقیع الغرقد کی طرف جاؤں گا، پس انہیں اُٹھایا جائے گا پھر میں اہل مکہ کا انتظار کروں گا پس انہیں اٹھایا جائے گا۔ پھر میں حرمین شریفین کے درمیان آجاؤں گا۔ (1)

سیدہ عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ نےاپنے بندوں میں سے ایک بندے کو اختیار دیا کہ وہ دنیا کو پسند کرے یا اللہ کے پاس جانے کو پس اس بندے نے اللہ نے اللہ کے پاس نعمتوں کو پسند کیا ،یہ سن کر سیدنا ابو بکر رضی اللہ عنہ آب دیدہ ہو گئے ۔ اور وہ جان گئے تھے کہ اس سے مراد آپ ﷺ کی اپنی ذات مبارک ہے پھر آپ ﷺ نے فرمایا : ابو بکر کے دروازے کے علاوہ مسجد کی طرف کھلنے والے تمام دروازوں کو بند کردو ، میں نہیں جانتا کہ رفاقت کے لحاظ سے کوئی ابو بکر سے بڑھ کر میرے نزدیک فضیلت والا ہے ۔ (2)
