حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَشِيرِ بْنِ ذَکْوَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْکَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ قَالَ قَدِمَ عَلَيْنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ وَقَدْ کُفَّ بَصَرُهُ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ أَنْتَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِابْنِ أَخِي بَلَغَنِي أَنَّکَ حَسَنُ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ نَزَلَ بِحُزْنٍ فَإِذَا قَرَأْتُمُوهُ فَابْکُوا فَإِنْ لَمْ تَبْکُوا فَتَبَاکَوْا وَتَغَنَّوْا بِهِ فَمَنْ لَمْ يَتَغَنَّ بِهِ فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا

It was narrated that 'Abdur-Rahman bin Sa'ib said: "Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas came to us when he had become blind. I greeted him with Salam and he said: 'Who are you?' So I told him, and he said: 'Welcome, 0 son of my brother. I have heard that you recite Qur'an in a beautiful voice. I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "This Qur'an was revealed with sorrow, so when you recite it, then weep. If you cannot weep then pretend to weep, and make your voice melodious in reciting it. Whoever does not make his voice melodious, he is not one of us." (Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ سَابِطٍ الْجُمَحِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ أَبْطَأْتُ عَلَی عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً بَعْدَ الْعِشَائِ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ کُنْتِ قُلْتُ کُنْتُ أَسْتَمِعُ قِرَائَةَ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِکَ لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِثْلَ قِرَائَتِهِ وَصَوْتِهِ مِنْ أَحَدٍ قَالَتْ فَقَامَ وَقُمْتُ مَعَهُ حَتَّی اسْتَمَعَ لَهُ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيَّ فَقَالَ هَذَا سَالِمٌ مَوْلَی أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فِي أُمَّتِي مِثْلَ هَذَا

It was narrated that ‘Aisha the wife of the Prophet said: One night at the time of the Messenger of Allah, I was late returning from the 'Isha, then I came and he said: 'Where were you?' I said: 'I was listening to the recitation of a man among your Companions, for I have never heard a recitation or a voice like his from anyone.' He got up and I got up with him, to go and listen to him. Then he turned to me and said: 'This is Salim, the freed slave of Abu Hudhaifah. Praise is to Allah Who has created such men among my Ummah' " (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الضَّرِيرُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَنِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ مُجَمِّعٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مِنْ أَحْسَنِ النَّاسِ صَوْتًا بِالْقُرْآنِ الَّذِي إِذَا سَمِعْتُمُوهُ يَقْرَأُ حَسِبْتُمُوهُ يَخْشَی اللَّهَ

It was narrated that Jabir said; .The Messenger of Allah said: Among the people who recite the Qur'an with the most beautiful voices is the man who when you hear him, you think that he fears Allah.''' (Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ مَوْلَی فَضَالَةَ عَنْ فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَلَّهُ أَشَدُّ أَذَنًا إِلَی الرَّجُلِ الْحَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ مِنْ صَاحِبِ الْقَيْنَةِ إِلَی قَيْنَتِهِ

It was narrated that Fadalah bin 'Ubaid said: "The Messenger of Allah said: Allah listens more attentively to a man with a beautiful voice who recites Qur'an out loud than the master of a singing female slave listens to his slave.''' (Da'if)

فَضَالَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ← ميسرةَ مَولى فضالةَ، ← إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ← الْاَوْزَاعِیُّ ← الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ← رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ رَاشِدٍ الرَّمْلِيُّ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَسَمِعَ قِرَائَةَ رَجُلٍ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا فَقِيلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ قَيْسٍ فَقَالَ لَقَدْ أُوتِيَ هَذَا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H entered the Masjid and heard a man reciting Qur’an. He asked, 'Who is this?' It was said: '(He is) 'Abdullah bin Qais.' He said: 'He has been given (sweet melodious voice) from the Mazaamir of the family of Dawud (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ طَلْحَةَ الْيَامِيَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْسَجَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَائَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَيِّنُوا الْقُرْآنَ بِأَصْوَاتِکُمْ

It was narrated from Bara’ (bin ‘Azib) that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "Beautify the Qur'an with your voices."(Sahih)

الْبَرَائَ بْنَ عَازِبٍ ← عَبْدِ الرَّحْمٰنِ بْنِ عَوْسَجَۃَ ← طَلْحَۃَ الْیَامِیِّ ← شُعْبَةُ ← يَحْيَی بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ،
