حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيکٌ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَی عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ صَلَاةُ السَّفَرِ رَکْعَتَانِ وَالْجُمُعَةُ رَکْعَتَانِ وَالْعِيدُ رَکْعَتَانِ تَمَامٌ غَيْرُ قَصْرٍ عَلَی لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

It was narrated that ‘Umar said: “The prayer while traveling is two Rak’ah, and Friday is two Rak’ah, and ‘Eid is two Rak’ah. They are complete and are not shortened, as told by Muhammad P.B.U.H.” (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ أَنْبَأَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَی عَنْ کَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ صَلَاةُ السَّفَرِ رَکْعَتَانِ وَصَلَاةُ الْجُمُعَةِ رَکْعَتَانِ وَالْفِطْرُ وَالْأَضْحَی رَکْعَتَانِ تَمَامٌ غَيْرُ قَصْرٍ عَلَی لِسَانِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

'Umar said: "The prayer when traveling is two Rak'oh, and Friday is two Rak'ah, and AI-Fitr and AI-Adha are two Rakah, complete, not shortened, as told by Muhammad P.B.U.H," (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَابَيْهِ عَنْ يَعْلَی بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قُلْتُ لَيْسَ عَلَيْکُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَقْصُرُوا مِنْ الصَّلَاةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنَکُمْ الَّذِينَ کَفَرُوا وَقَدْ أَمِنَ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ عَجِبْتُ مِمَّا عَجِبْتَ مِنْهُ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِکَ فَقَالَ صَدَقَةٌ تَصَدَّقَ اللَّهُ بِهَا عَلَيْکُمْ فَاقْبَلُوا صَدَقَتَهُ

It was narrated that Ya'la bin Umayyah said: "I asked 'Umar bin Khattab: 'Allah says: "And when you travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten the prayer if you fear that the disbelievers may put you in trial (attack you), verily, the disbelievers are ever to you open enemies,'' but now there is security and people are safe.' He said: 'I found it strange just as you do, so I asked the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H about that, and he said: "It is a charity that Allah has bestowed upon you, so accept His charity." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ إِنَّا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ الْحَضَرِ وَصَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَلَا نَجِدُ صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَعَثَ إِلَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا نَعْلَمُ شَيْئًا فَإِنَّمَا نَفْعَلُ کَمَا رَأَيْنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ

It was narrated from Umayyah bin' Abdullah bin Khalid that he said to 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: "We find (mention of) the prayer of the resident and the prayer in a state of fear in the Qur'an, but we do not find any mention of the prayer of the traveler. 'Abdullah said to him: "Allah sent Muhammad m to us, and we did not know anything, rather we do what we saw Muhammad P.B.U.H doing." (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَمْ يَزِدْ عَلَی رَکْعَتَيْنِ حَتَّی يَرْجِعَ إِلَيْهَا

It was narrated that Ibn “Umar said: When the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H went out from this city (Al-Madinah) he did not perform more than two Rak’ah for prayer until he returned.” (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ وَجُبَارَةُ بْنُ الْمُغَلِّسِ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ بُکَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَخْنَسِ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَی لِسَانِ نَبِيِّکُمْ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحَضَرِ أَرْبَعًا وَفِي السَّفَرِ رَکْعَتَيْنِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: "Allah enjoined the prayer upon the tongue of your Prophet P.B.U.H Four Rak'oh. while a resident and two Rak' ah when traveling." (Sahih)
