إِنَّما جعلَ الإِمامُ ليؤتَمَّ به، فإِذا كبَّر فكبِّروا، وإِذا قَرأ فأَنْصِتُوا، وإِذا قال، {غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّينَ}، فقُولوا: آمين، وإذا رَكَعَ فاركعوا، وإذا قال: سمع اللَّه لمن حَمِدَهُ فقولوا: اللَّهُمَّ ربّنا ولك الحمد، وإذا سَجَدَ فاسْجُدُوا. وإِذا صلى جالسًا فصَلُّوا جلوسًا. هـ، ق وضعَّفه عن أبى هريرة (4) -رضي اللَّه عنه-.

إِنَّمَا حَمَلَنِى على الرَّدِّ علَيْكَ مخافةُ أن تذهبَ إِلَى قومكَ فتقُول إِنِّى سلَّمتُ علَى النبىِّ فلم يردَّ علىَّ، فإذا رأيتَنِى على هذه الحال فلا تسلِّمنَّ علىَّ، فإنَّك إِنَّ سلَّمتَ على لم أردَّ عليكَ (4) . الشافعى، ق فِى المعرفة، والخطيب عن ابن عمر: ان رجلًا مرَّ على رسول اللَّه -صلى اللَّه عليه وسلم- وهو يبول، فسلم فردَّ عليه وقال فذكره.
