حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ بَيْنَهُمَا سَالِمٌ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) used to pray two rak'ahs after Jumu'ah.

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, that when dawn broke, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) would pray two rak'ahs.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَدْرَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَأَبِي وَأَبِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ فَمَنْ كَانَ حَالِفًا فَلْيَحْلِفْ بِاللَّهِ وَإِلَّا فَلْيَصْمُتْ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar (that) the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) caught up with 'Umar, during one of his journeys, when he was saying: By my father, by my father. He (the Prophet (PBUH)) said: "Allah forbids you to swear by your fathers. Whoever wants to swear, let him swear by Allah or else remain silent."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَبَّقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْخَيْلَ فَأَرْسَلَ مَا ضُمِّرَ مِنْهَا مِنْ الْحَفْيَاءِ وَأَرْسَلَ مَا لَمْ يُضَمَّرْ مِنْهَا مِنْ ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ إِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) held a race for horses. He sent those that had been specially prepared [1] for that from al-Hayfa', and he sent those that had not been specially prepared from Thaniyyat al-Wadaa', to the mosque of Banu Zurayq.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ نَافِعٍ خَرَجَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُرِيدُ الْعُمْرَةَ فَأَخْبَرُوهُ أَنَّ بِمَكَّةَ أَمْرًا فَقَالَ أُهِلُّ بِالْعُمْرَةِ فَإِنْ حُبِسْتُ صَنَعْتُ كَمَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَهَلَّ بِالْعُمْرَةِ فَلَمَّا سَارَ قَلِيلًا وَهُوَ بِالْبَيْدَاءِ قَالَ مَا سَبِيلُ الْعُمْرَةِ إِلَّا سَبِيلُ الْحَجِّ أُوجِبُ حَجًّا وَقَالَ أُشْهِدُكُمْ أَنِّي قَدْ أَوْجَبْتُ حَجًّا فَإِنَّ سَبِيلَ الْحَجِّ سَبِيلُ الْعُمْرَةِ فَقَدِمَ مَكَّةَ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ سَبْعًا وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ سَبْعًا وَقَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ أَتَى قُدَيْدًا فَاشْتَرَى هَدْيًا فَسَاقَهُ مَعَهُ

It was narrated from Naafi' that Ibn 'Umar wanted to do 'Umrah, but they told him that something was happening in Makkah- He said; I shall enter ihram for 'Umrah, then if I am prevented (from continuing) I shall do what the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) did. So he entered ihram for 'Umrah, then when he had travelled a little way and was in al-Bayda', he said: If this applies to 'Umrah it also applies to Hajj; i commit myself to doing Hajj. And he said: I ask you to bear witness that I have committed myself to doing Hajj, for the same applies to Hajj as to 'Umrah. Then he came to Makkah and circumambulated the House (the Ka'bah) seven times, and he went between as-Safa and al-Marwah seven times, and he said: This is what i saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do. He came to Qudayd and bought a sacrificial animal, and he brought it with him.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَتَى قُدَيْدًا وَاشْتَرَى هَدْيَهُ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَقَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ هَكَذَا

It was narrated from Naafi’ that Ibn 'Umar came to Qudayd and bought his sacrificial animal, then he circumambulated the Ka'bah and went between as-Safa and al-Marwah, and he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do this.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى عَنْ نَافِعٍ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ يُحَدِّثُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَنَّ جَارِيَةً لِكَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ كَانَتْ تَرْعَى غَنَمًا لَهُ بِسَلْعٍ بَلَغَ الْمَوْتُ شَاةً مِنْهَا فَأَخَذَتْ ظُرَرَةً فَذَكَّتْهَا بِهِ فَأَمَرَهُ بِأَكْلِهَا

It was narrated from Naafi': i heard a man from Banu Salamah telling Ibn 'Umar: A slave girl of Ka'b ibn Maalik was tending sheep of his at Sal', and one of the sheep was about to die, so she took a sharp-edged stone and slaughtered it. And he told him to eat it.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ ذُؤَيْبٍ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْحِمَى فَلَمَّا غَرُبَتْ الشَّمْسُ هِبْنَا أَنْ نَقُولَ لَهُ الصَّلَاةَ حَتَّى ذَهَبَ بَيَاضُ الْأُفُقِ وَذَهَبَتْ فَحْمَةُ الْعِشَاءِ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا ثَلَاثًا وَاثْنَتَيْنِ وَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا وَقَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَلَ

It was narrated that Isma’eel ibn 'Abd ar-Rahmaan ibn Dhu'ayb, one of Banu Asad ibn 'Abd al-'Uzza, said: We went Out with Ibn 'Umar to al-hima (protected pasture land), and when the sun set, we felt too shy to remind him of the prayer, until the whiteness on the horizon had disappeared and the first hour of the night had gone. Then he dismounted and led us in praying three and two rak'ahs. Then he turned to face us and said: This is what I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا حَدِيثًا كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارَةٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ الشَّجَرِ شَجَرَةً مَثَلُهَا كَمَثَلِ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَقُولَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا أَنَا أَصْغَرُ الْقَوْمِ فَسَكَتُّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هِيَ النَّخْلَةُ

It was narrated that Mujaahid said: I accompanied Ibn 'Umar to Madeenah, and I did not hear him narrate any hadeeth from the Prophet (PBUH) except one. He said: We were with the Prophet (PBUH) and some heart of palm was brought to him- He said: "Among the trees is one that is like the Muslim." I wanted to say that it is the date palm, but i saw that I was the youngest of the people, so l remained silent. Then the Messenger of Allah (f- said "It is the date palm."

صَحِبْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِلَى المَدِينَةِ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ ← مُّجَاھِدٍ ← ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ ← سُفْيَانَ،

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ شَهِدَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ الْفَتْحَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً وَمَعَهُ فَرَسٌ حَرُونٌ وَرُمْحٌ ثَقِيلٌ فَذَهَبَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَخْتَلِي لِفَرَسِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ

It was narrated that Mujaahid said : Ibn Umar was present at the conquest (of Makkah) when he was twenty year old , and he had a stubborn horse and heavy spear . Ibn Umar went to cut grass for his horse , and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said : “ Verily Abdullah…, Verily Abdullah…”

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُدَيْرٍ وَوَكِيعٌ الْمَعْنَى قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُطَارِدٍ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ السَّدُوسِيِّ أَبِي الْبَزَرِيِّ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ الشُّرْبِ قَائِمًا فَقَالَ قَدْ كُنَّا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَشْرَبُ قِيَامًا وَنَأْكُلُ وَنَحْنُ نَسْعَى

Wakee' said: as-Sadoosi Abu’l-Bazari said: I asked Ibn 'Umar about drinking whilst Stan He said: At the time of the messenger of Allah (PBUH) we used to drink whilst standing and eat whilst walking.

يَزِيدَ بْنِ عُطَارِدٍ ← عِمْرَانُ، ← عِمْرَانُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ حُدَيْرٍ وَوَكِيعٌ الْمَعْنَى ← ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ كَانُوا يَبْدَءُونَ بِالصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ فِي الْعِيدِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH), Abu Bakr and 'Umar used to offer the Eid prayer before the khutbah on Eid.
