حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ شَهِدَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ الْفَتْحَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عِشْرِينَ سَنَةً وَمَعَهُ فَرَسٌ حَرُونٌ وَرُمْحٌ ثَقِيلٌ فَذَهَبَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَخْتَلِي لِفَرَسِهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4600
It was narrated that Mujaahid said : Ibn Umar was present at the conquest (of Makkah) when he was twenty year old , and he had a stubborn horse and heavy spear . Ibn Umar went to cut grass for his horse , and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said : “ Verily Abdullah…, Verily Abdullah…”
