Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hanble

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade earthenware jars and gourds.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← أَبِيهِ ← عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ طَاوُسٍ، ← وُهَيْبٌ، ← عَفَّانُ

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ فِي أَوَّلِ أَمْرِهِ إِنَّهَا لَا تَنْفِرُ قَالَ ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَهُنَّ

'Abdullah ibn Tawoos narrated from his father that he heard rbn 'Umar initially say that (a woman) should not leave for home (if she had completed Hajj then got her menses before doing the farewell tawaaf). He said: Then I heard Ibn 'Umar say: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) granted them (menstruating women) a concession.

أَبِيهِ ← عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ طَاوُسٍ، ← وُهَيْبٌ، ← عَفَّانُ

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا دُعِيَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الدَّعْوَةِ فَلْيُجِبْ أَوْ قَالَ فَلْيَأْتِهَا قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُجِيبُ صَائِمًا وَمُفْطِرًا

It was narrated from Ibn tirtar that the Prophet (PBUH) said: 'When one of you is invited, let accept" or he said, “let him go.” And rbn 'Umar would accept invitations whether he was fasting or not.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ هَذِهِ الصُّوَرِ يُعَذَّبُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَيُقَالُ لَهُمْ أَحْيُوا مَا خَلَقْتُمْ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Those who make these images will be punished On the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Bring to life that which you have created."

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← نَافِعٍ ← أَيُّوبَ ← وُهَيْبٌ، ← عَفَّانُ

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← نَافِعٍ ← أَيُّوبَ ← حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ← عَفَّانُ

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِيهِ ← سُهَيْلٌ، ← حَمَّادٍ، ← عَفَّانُ

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْقَزَعِ قَالَ حَمَّادٌ تَفْسِيرُهُ أَنْ يُحْلَقَ بَعْضُ رَأْسِ الصَّبِيِّ وَيُتْرَكَ مِنْهُ ذُؤَابَةٌ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade qaza'. Hammaad said: Qaza' refers to shaving part of a boy's head and leaving a lock of hair.

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ كُنَّا إِذَا بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ يُلَقِّنُنَا هُوَ فِيمَا اسْتَطَعْتَ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn Dinar said: I heardibn Umar say: When we swore allegiancer to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) with the pledge to hear and obey, he would say: "As nutch as you. as you are able to."

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ مِصْرَ يَحُجُّ الْبَيْتَ قَالَ فَرَأَى قَوْمًا جُلُوسًا فَقَالَ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الْقَوْمُ فَقَالُوا قُرَيْشٌ قَالَ فَمَنْ الشَّيْخُ فِيهِمْ قَالُوا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ قَالَ يَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِنِّي سَائِلُكَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ أَوْ أَنْشُدُكَ أَوْ نَشَدْتُكَ بِحُرْمَةِ هَذَا الْبَيْتِ أَتَعْلَمُ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ فَرَّ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَتَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ غَابَ عَنْ بَدْرٍ فَلَمْ يَشْهَدْهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَتَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ تَغَيَّبَ عَنْ بَيْعَةِ الرِّضْوَانِ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَكَبَّرَ الْمِصْرِيُّ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ تَعَالَ أُبَيِّنْ لَكَ مَا سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْهُ أَمَّا فِرَارُهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ عَفَا عَنْهُ وَغَفَرَ لَهُ وَأَمَّا تَغَيُّبُهُ عَنْ بَدْرٍ فَإِنَّهُ كَانَتْ تَحْتَهُ ابْنَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّهَا مَرِضَتْ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَكَ أَجْرُ رَجُلٍ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَسَهْمُهُ وَأَمَّا تَغَيُّبُهُ عَنْ بَيْعَةِ الرِّضْوَانِ فَلَوْ كَانَ أَحَدٌ أَعَزَّ بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِنْ عُثْمَانَ لَبَعَثَهُ بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُثْمَانَ وَكَانَتْ بَيْعَةُ الرِّضْوَانِ بَعْدَمَا ذَهَبَ عُثْمَانُ فَضَرَبَ بِهَا يَدَهُ عَلَى يَدِهِ وَقَالَ هَذِهِ لِعُثْمَانَ قَالَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ اذْهَبْ بِهَذَا الْآنَ مَعَكَ

’Uthmaan ibn 'Abdullah ibn Mawhab said: A man came from Egypt to perform Hajj to the House (the Ka'bah). He saw some people sitting and said: Who are these people? They said: Quraysh. He said: Who is the old man among them? They said: "Abdullah ibn 'Umar. He said: O Ibn 'Umar, I am going to ask you about something, or I urge you (to tell us the truth), or I adjure you by the sanctity of this House, do you know that 'Uthmaan fled on the day of Uhud? He said: Yes. He said: Do you know that he was absent from Badr and was not present? He said: Yes. He said: Do you kno w that he was absent from Bay'at ar-Radwaan? He said: Yes. The Egyptian said: Allahu akbar. Ibn 'Umar said: Come and I will explain to you what you asked me about. As for his fleeing on the day of Uhud, I bear witness that Allah has pardoned him and forgiven him As for his being absent from Badr, hs was married to the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and she had fallen sick, so the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to him." You will have the reward of a man who was present at Badr and a share of the booty." As for his absence from Bay'at ar-Radwaan, if there was anyone else who was more prominent in Makkah than 'Uthmaan, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) would have sent him. But the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) sent 'Uthmaan (to negotiate with the mushrikeen in Makkah), and Bay'at ar-Radwaan took place after 'Uthmaan had left. So (the Prophet (PBUH) struck one erf his hands with the other and said: "This is for 'Uthmaan." And bn 'Umar said: Go now and take this information with you.

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ آشْتَرِي الذَّهَبَ بِالْفِضَّةِ أَوْ الْفِضَّةَ بِالذَّهَبِ قَالَ إِذَا أَخَذْتَ وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا بِالْآخَرِ فَلَا يُفَارِقْكَ صَاحِبُكَ وَبَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ لَبْسٌ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I asked the Prophet (PBUH) Can I buy gold for silver and silver for gold? He said: "If you take one of them in return for the other, your counterpart should not part from you if there is still any ambiguity between you."

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، ← سِمَاكٍ، ← اِسْرَائِیْلُ ← حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْتِي قُبَاءَ رَاكِبًا وَمَاشِيًا

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to visit Quba', riding and walking.

ابْنِ عُمَرَ ← نَافِعٍ ← عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ مَاشِيَةٍ أَوْ كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْكِلَابِ أَنْ تُقْتَلَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever keeps a dog except a dog for herding livestock or hunting, two qiraats will be deducted from his good deeds every day. And he used to issue orders that dogs be killed.
