حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سُرَاقَةَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يُصَلِّي فِي السَّفَرِ قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا

'Uthmaan ibn Suraaqah narrated: i heard Ibn Umar say. I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) not praying any (Sunnah prayer) before or after (the obligatory prayer) when travelling.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ بِجَمْعٍ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَالِكٍ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ فَقَالَ صَلَّيْتُهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Maalik that Ibn 'Umar prayed Maghrib and 'lsha' in Muzdalifah with one iqaamah. 'Abdullah ibn Maalik said to him: O Abu 'Abd ar-Rahmaan, what is this prayer? He said: I prayed it with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) in this place with one iqaamah.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ اتَّخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَكَانَ يَجْعَلُ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ فَاتَّخَذَهُ النَّاسُ فَرَمَى بِهِ وَاتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ وَرِقٍ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) acquired a ring of gold, and he use I to place the stone next to his palm, and the people began (to wear rings too). Then lie threw it away and acquired a ring of silver.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الرُّؤْيَا جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنْ النُّبُوَّةِ

It was narrated from rbn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Dreams are one of the seventy parts of Prophet hood."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ قَائِمًا عِنْدَ بَابِ عَائِشَةَ فَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَشْرِقِ فَقَالَ الْفِتْنَةُ هَاهُنَا حَيْثُ يَطْلُعُ قَرْنُ الشَّيْطَانِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar from the Prophet (PBUH) that he stood at Aa'ishah's door and gestured with his hand towards the east and said: "Tribulation is there, from where the two sides of the head of the Shaytaan appear."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ لَمَّا مَاتَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ جَاءَ ابْنُهُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَعْطِنِي قَمِيصَكَ حَتَّى أُكَفِّنَهُ فِيهِ وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُ فَأَعْطَاهُ قَمِيصَهُ وَقَالَ آذِنِّي بِهِ فَلَمَّا ذَهَبَ لِيُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ يَعْنِي عُمَرَ قَدْ نَهَاكَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى الْمُنَافِقِينَ فَقَالَ أَنَا بَيْنَ خِيرَتَيْنِ اسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ أَوْ لَا تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ أَبَدًا قَالَ فَتُرِكَتْ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهِمْ

Naafi' narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: When 'Abd-Allah ibn Ubayy died, his son came to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and said: 0 Messenger of Allah, give me your chemise so that i may shroud him in it, and offer the funeral prayer for him and pray for forgiveness for him. So he gave him his chemise and said: "Let me know (when the body has been prepared)." When he went to offer the funeral prayer for him, 'Umar said: Allah has forbidden you to offer the funeral prayer for the hypocrites. He said: “I was given two choices: Whetlier you (O Muhammad ask forgiveness for them (hypocrites) or ask not forgiveness for them' [al-Tawbah 9:80].” So e offered the funeral prayer for him, Allah, may He be exalted, revealed (the verse): "And never [O Muhammad pray (funeral praver) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave “ [al-Tawbah 9:84]. So the funeral prayer was no longer offered for them (the hypocrites).

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكَزَ الْحَرْبَةَ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to set up a spear and pray facing it.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ غَيَّرَ اسْمَ عَاصِيَةَ قَالَ أَنْتِ جَمِيلَةُ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) changed the name of 'Aasiyah (meaning disobedient) and said; "You are Jameelah (meaning beautiful)."

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدٌ الْعَمِّىُّ عَنْ أَبِي الصِّدِّيقِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ رَخَّصَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأُمَّهَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي الذَّيْلِ شِبْرًا فَاسْتَزَدْنَهُ فَزَادَهُنَّ شِبْرًا آخَرَ فَجَعَلْنَهُ ذِرَاعًا فَكُنَّ يُرْسِلْنَ إِلَيْنَا نَذْرَعُ لَهُنَّ ذِرَاعًا

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said; The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) granted a concession to the Mothers of the Believers allowing them to lengthen their hems by a handspan (to drag along the ground), then they asked for more so he added another handspan and they made it a cubit. They used to ask us (for garments) and we would measure an extra cubit for them.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَحَكَّهَا وَخَلَّقَ مَكَانَهَا

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saw some sputum in the qiblah of the mosque. He scratched it then put some khalooq (a perfume containing saffron) on that place.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً فَلَا يَنْتَجِي اثْنَانِ دُونَ صَاحِبِهِمَا قَالَ قُلْنَا فَإِنْ كَانُوا أَرْبَعًا قَالَ فَلَا يَضُرُّ

It was narrated from l bn ‘Umar that the prophet (PBUH) said: “if you are three, two should not converse privately to the existance of the third" We said: What it there are tour? He said: Then it ckvs not matter.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ لَا يَدَعُ أَنْ يَسْتَلِمَ الْحَجَرَ وَالرُّكْنَ الْيَمَانِي فِي كُلِّ طَوَافٍ

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) would not omit to touch the Block stone and the yemeni Comer in each circuit of tawaat.
