حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعُ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَعَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْوَرْدِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ قَالَ قَالَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ لَا أُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا إِلَّا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِنْ صَالِحِي قُرَيْشٍ قَالَ وَزَادَ عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ وَرْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنْ طَلْحَةَ قَالَ نِعْمَ أَهْلُ الْبَيْتِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَأَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأُمُّ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ

It was narrated that Ibn Abi Mulaikah said: Talha bin Ubaidullah said: I do not usually narrate anything from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), but I heard him say: Amr bin al- As (RA) is one of the righteous of Quraish. Abdul Jabbar bin Ward added, narrating from Ibn Abi Mulaikah, that Talha said: How good are the family: Abdullah, the father of Abdullah and the mother of Abdullah.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَنَحْنُ حُرُمٌ فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ طَيْرٌ وَطَلْحَةُ رَاقِدٌ فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَكَلَ وَمِنَّا مَنْ تَوَرَّعَ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ طَلْحَةُ وَفَّقَ مَنْ أَكَلَهُ وَقَالَ أَكَلْنَاهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

It was narrated from Muadh bin Abdul Rahman bin Usman at-Taimi that his father Abdul Rahman bin Usman said: We were with Talha bin Ubaidullah (RA) and we were in ihram. We were given a bird as a gift whilst Talha was sleeping. Some of us ate and some of us refrained and did not eat. When Talha woke up, he approved of those who had eaten it and said: We ate it with the Messenger of Allah.

حَدَّثَنَا أَسْبَاطٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُطَرِّفٌ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ رَأَى عُمَرُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ثَقِيلًا فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ يَا أَبَا فُلَانٍ لَعَلَّكَ سَاءَتْكَ إِمْرَةُ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ يَا أَبَا فُلَانٍ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا مَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ عَنْهُ إِلَّا الْقُدْرَةُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى مَاتَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً لَا يَقُولُهَا عَبْدٌ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا أَشْرَقَ لَهَا لَوْنُهُ وَنَفَّسَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَتَهُ قَالَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ مَا هِيَ قَالَ وَمَا هِيَ قَالَ تَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً أَعْظَمَ مِنْ كَلِمَةٍ أَمَرَ بِهَا عَمَّهُ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ قَالَ طَلْحَةُ صَدَقْتَ هِيَ وَاللَّهِ هِيَ

It was narrated from Yahya bin Talha that his father said: Umar saw Talha in Ubaidullah looking upset and said: What is the matter with you, O Father of So and so? Perhaps your cousin's being appointed as caliph has upset you, O Father of So and so? He said; No, but I heard a hadeeth from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and nothing prevented me from asking him about it except the fear of not being able to comply with it [and I did not ask him about it] until he died. I heard him say: "I know a word which no one says at the time of death but his color will brighten and Allah will relieve him of his distress." Umar (RA) said: I know what it is. Talha said: What is it? 'Umar said: Do you know any word that is greater than the word he enjoined his uncle to say when he was dying. La ilaha Wallah? Talha said: You are right. By Allah, that is what it is.

it was narrated that Ismaeel said: I saw Talha with his hand paralysed; he had protected the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) with it on the day of Uhud.

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ عُمَرَ عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ رَآهُ كَئِيبًا فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ كَئِيبًا لَعَلَّهُ سَاءَتْكَ إِمْرَةُ ابْنِ عَمِّكَ يَعْنِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ قَالَ لَا وَأَثْنَى عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ كَلِمَةٌ لَا يَقُولُهَا عَبْدٌ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا فَرَّجَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَتَهُ وَأَشْرَقَ لَوْنُهُ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ عَنْهَا إِلَّا الْقُدْرَةُ عَلَيْهَا حَتَّى مَاتَ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ طَلْحَةُ وَمَا هِيَ فَقَالَ لَهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ كَلِمَةً هِيَ أَعْظَمَ مِنْ كَلِمَةٍ أَمَرَ بِهَا عَمَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ فَقَالَ طَلْحَةُ هِيَ وَاللَّهِ هِيَ

It was narrated from Yahya bin Talha bin 'Ubaidullah, from his father, that Umar (RA) saw him looking sad and said: What is the matter with you, O Abu Muhammad? Perhaps you are upset about your cousin being appointed caliph? - referring to Abu Bakr. He said: No. And he spoke highly of Abu Bakr RA), [then he said:] But I heard the Prophet (PBUH) say: "[There is] a word which no one says when he is dying but Allah will relieve him of distress and his color will brighten." Nothing prevented me from asking him about it except the fear of not being able to comply with it [and I did not ask him about it] until he died. 'Umar said to him: I know what it is. حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْنٍ الْغِفَارِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي دَاوُدُ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ أَنَّهُ مَرَّ هُوَ وَرَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو يُوسُفَ مِنْ بَنِي تَيْمٍ عَلَى رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ لَهُ أَبُو يُوسُفَ إِنَّا لَنَجِدُ عِنْدَ غَيْرِكَ مِنْ الْحَدِيثِ مَا لَا نَجِدُهُ عِنْدَكَ فَقَالَ أَمَا إِنَّ عِنْدِي حَدِيثًا كَثِيرًا وَلَكِنَّ رَبِيعَةَ بْنَ الْهُدَيْرِ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَلْزَمُ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ طَلْحَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا قَطُّ غَيْرَ حَدِيثٍ وَاحِدٍ قَالَ رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قُلْتُ لَهُ وَمَا هُوَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي طَلْحَةُ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى حَرَّةِ وَاقِمٍ قَالَ فَدَنَوْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِذَا قُبُورٌ بِمَحْنِيَّةٍ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قُبُورُ إِخْوَانِنَا هَذِهِ قَالَ قُبُورُ أَصْحَابِنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا حَتَّى إِذَا جِئْنَا قُبُورَ الشُّهَدَاءِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَذِهِ قُبُورُ إِخْوَانِنَا

Dawood bin Khalid bin Dinar narrated that he and a man called Abu Yousuf, who was from (the tribe of) Banu Taim, passed by Rabee'ah bin Abi 'Abdul Rahman (RA) and Abu Yousuf said to him: We find that you have a hadeeth that we did not find with anyone else. He said: I have a lot of hadeeths, but Rabee'ah bin al- Hudair - who used to stay close to Talha bin 'Ubaidullah - said that he did not hear Talha narrate any hadeeth from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) except one. Rabee'ah bin Abi 'Abdul Rahman said: I said to him: What is it? He said: Talha said to me: We went out with the Messenger of Allah until we approached Harrat Waqim. When we drew close to it, we saw some graves at a turn in the valley and we said: O Messenger of Allah, are these the graves of our brothers? He said: "The graves of our companions” Then he left and when we came to the graves of the martyrs, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "These are the graves of our brothers."

حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كُنَّا نُصَلِّي وَالدَّوَابُّ تَمُرُّ بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا فَذَكَرْنَا ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ مِثْلُ مُؤْخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ تَكُونُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَحَدِكُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَضُرُّهُ مَا مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ عُمَرُ مَرَّةً بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ

It was narrated from Moosa bin Talha that his father said: We used to pray with animals passing in front of us. We mentioned that to the Prophet (PBUH) and he said: "If you put something the height of the back of a saddle in front of you, then it will not matter what passes beyond it."

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ نَزَلَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْيَمَنِ عَلَى طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ فَقُتِلَ أَحَدُهُمَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ مَكَثَ الْآخَرُ بَعْدَهُ سَنَةً ثُمَّ مَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَأُرِيَ طَلْحَةُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ الَّذِي مَاتَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ قَبْلَ الْآخَرِ بِحِينٍ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ طَلْحَةُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمْ مَكَثَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَهُ قَالَ حَوْلًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى أَلْفًا وَثَمَانِ مِائَةِ صَلَاةٍ وَصَامَ رَمَضَانَ

It was narrated that Abu Salamnh said: Two men from Yemen came to stay with Talha bin 'Ubaidullah. One of them was killed with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and the other remained for a year after that, then he died in his bed. Talha bin 'Ubaidullah was shown [in a dream] that the one who died in his bed entered Paradise some time before the other. Talha mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "How long did he live after (the one who died first)?" He said: One year. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "He offered eighteen hundred (extra) prayers and fasted Ramadan." حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا الْإِسْلَامُ قَالَ خَمْسُ صَلَوَاتٍ فِي يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهُنَّ قَالَ لَا وَسَأَلَهُ عَنْ الصَّوْمِ فَقَالَ صِيَامُ رَمَضَانَ قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهُ قَالَ لَا قَالَ وَذَكَرَ الزَّكَاةَ قَالَ هَلْ عَلَيَّ غَيْرُهَا قَالَ لَا قَالَ وَاللَّهِ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُنَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَفْلَحَ إِنْ صَدَقَ

Malik narrated from his paternal uncle, from his father, that he heard Talha bin 'Ubaidullah say: A Bedouin came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said: O Messenger of Allah, what is Islam? He said: "Five prayers every day and night." He said: Do I have to do anything other than that? He said: "No." He asked him about fasting and he said: "Fasting (the month of) Ramadan." He said: Do I have to do anything other than that? He said: "No," He mentioned zakah and said: Do I have to do anything other than that? He said: "No." He said: By Allah, I will do no more and no less than that. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: He will prosper, if he means what he says."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَطَلْحَةَ وَالزُّبَيْرِ وَسَعْدٍ نَشَدْتُكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي تَقُومُ بِهِ السَّمَاءُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً الَّذِي بِإِذْنِهِ تَقُومُ أَعَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّا لَا نُورَثُ مَا تَرَكْنَا صَدَقَةٌ قَالُوا اللَّهُمَّ نَعَمْ

It was narrated from Malik bin Aws: I heard Umar (RA) say to Abdul Rahman, Talha, az-Zubair and Saad: I adjure you by Allah, by Whose power heaven and earth exist - Sufan said on one occasion: by who leave heaven and earth exist - do you know that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "We [Prophets] are not to be inherited from; what we leave behind is charity"? They said: By Allah, yes.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ وَنَحْنُ حُرُمٌ فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ طَيْرٌ وَطَلْحَةُ رَاقِدٌ فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَكَلَ وَمِنَّا مَنْ تَوَرَّعَ فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ طَلْحَةُ وَفَّقَ مَنْ أَكَلَهُ وَقَالَ أَكَلْنَاهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

It was narrated from Mu'adh bin 'Abdul Rahman bin 'Usman at-Taimi that his father said: We were with Talha bin A 'Ubaidullah and we were in tfiram. A bird was given to him as a gift when Talha was sleeping. Some of us ate and some of us refrained. When Talhah woke up, he approved of those who had eaten and said: We ate it with the Messenger of Allah.

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا يَسْتُرُ الْمُصَلِّيَ قَالَ مِثْلُ آخِرَةِ الرَّحْلِ

It was narrated from Moosa bin Talha that his father said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was asked: What will serve as a screen (sufrali) for one who is praying? He said: "[Something] the height of the back of a ' saddle.
