حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَھَیْمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْیَانُ بْنُ حَمْزَۃَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِيْ کَثِیْرُ بْنُ زَیْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِالرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ کَعْبِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِاللہِ ؓ یَقُوْلُ : دَعَا رَسُوْلُ اللہِ ﷺ فِيْ ھَذَالْمَسْجِدِ ۔مَسْجِدِ الفْتَعِْ۔ یَوْمَ اِلا ثْٔنَیِن وَیَوْمَ الثُّلاثَاءِ وَیَوْمَ اْلْٔا رْبِعَاءِ، فَاسَّتُجِیْبَ لَہُ بَیْنَ الصَّلَاتَیْنَ مَنْ یَوْمِ اْلَٔا رْبِعَاءَ۔قَالَ جَابِرٌ: وَلَمْ یَنْزِلْ بِيْ أَمْرٌ مُھِمُّ غانِظٌ إِلَّا تَوَخَّیْتُ تِلْکَ السَّاعَۃَ، فَدَعَوْتُ اللہَ فِیْہِ بَیْنَ الصَّلَاتَیْنِ یَوْمَ اْلَٔارْبِعَاءِ فَيْ تِلْکَ السَّاعَۃِ، إِلَّا عَرَفْتُ الْإِِ جَابَۃَّ

Jabir ibn 'Abdullah said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, made supplication in this mosque, the Mosque of Victory, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and it was answered for him between the two prayers on Wednesday," Jabir said, "Whenever anything severe and serious happened to me and I singled out that time and made supplication to Allah concerning it between the two prayers on Wednesday, I found the answer.'"

جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِاللہِ ← عَبْدِالرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ کَعْبِ ← كَثِيرُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ← سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ← إِبْرَھَیْمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، عَنْ خَلَفِ بْنِ خَلِیْفَۃَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِيْ حَفْصُ ابْنُ أَخِيْ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ: کُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَدَ عَارَجُلٌ فَقَّالَ: یَا بَدِیْعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ! یَا حَيُّ یَا قَیُّوْمُ ! إِنَّيْ أَسْأَلُکَ۔ فَقَالَ ﷺؒ:((أَتَدْرُوْنَ بِمَا دَعَا؟ وَالَّذِيْ نَفْسِيْ بِیَدہِ، دَعَا اللہَ بِاسْمِعِہ الّذِيْ إِذَا دُعِيَ بِہِ أَجَابَ۔))

Anas said, "I was with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, when a man made supplication, saying, 'O Originator of the heavens! O Living, Self-Subsistent! I ask of You.' He said, 'Do you know by what he has made supplication? By the One in whose hand my soul is, he has asked Allah by the Name that He answers when He is asked by it."

یَا بَدِیْعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ! یَا حَيُّ یَا قَیُّوْمُ إِنَّيْ أَسْأَلُکَ۔ ← أَنَسٍ کُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيَّ فَدَ عَارَجُلٌ ← حَفْصِ ابْنِ أَخِي، أَنَسٍ، ← خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، ← عَلِيٍّ،

حَدَّثَنَا یَحْیَی بْنُ سُلَیْمَانَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَھْبٍ ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِيْ عَمْرٌو، عَنْ یَزِیْدَ بْنِ أَبِيْ حَبِیْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَیْرِ، أَنَہُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَاللہِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُوْبَکْرِ ؓ للِنَّبِيَّ ﷺ: عَلَّمْنِيْ دُعَاءً أَدْعُوْبِہِ فَيْ صَلَاتِیْ ، قَّالَ: ((قُلِ : الَلَّھُمَّ إِنَّيْ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِيْ ظُلْمًا کَثِیْرًا، وَلَا یَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، فَا غْفِرْ لِيْ مِنْ عِنْدِکَٔ مَغْفِرَۃ،ً إِنَّکَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِیْمُ))

'Abdullah ibn 'Amr was heard to say, "Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, said to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, 'Teach me a supplication which I can use in my prayer.' He said, 'Say, "O Allah, I have wronged myself greatly. Only You forgive wrong actions. Forgive me with forgiveness directly from you. You are the Ever-Forgiving, Most Merciful."'"

أَبُوْبَکْرِ للِنَّبِيَّ عَلَّمْنِيْ دُعَاءً أَدْعُوْبِہِ فَيْ صَلَاتِیْ ← عَبْدِاللہِ بْنِ عَمْروؓ ← أَبِي الْخَيْرِ أَنَّهُ ← يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ← عَمْرٍو، ← ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ← يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَیْدٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِیْسَی بْنُ یُوْنُسَ، عَنِ اْلَٔا عْمَشِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ثُمَامَۃُ ابْنُ عُقْبَۃَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَارِثَ بْنَ سُوَیْدٍ یَقُوْلُ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللہِ بْنُ مَسْعُوْدٍ ؓ: إِذَا کَانَ عَلَی أَحَدَکُمْ إِمَامٌ یَخَافُ تَغَطُرُسَہُ أَوْ ظُلْلَمُہ، فَلْیَقُلٍ: اللَّھُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ ، وَرَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیْمِ، کُنْ لِيْ جَارًامَنْ فُلَان بْنِ فَّلان، وَأَحْزَابِہِ مِنْ خَلَایِقِکَٔ، أَنْ یَفْرُطَ عَلَيَّ أَحَدٌمَنْھُمْ أَوْ یَطْغَی، عَزَّ جَارُکَٔ، وَجَلَّ ثَنَاؤُکَٔ، وَلَا إِلَہَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said, "When there is a ruler in charge of you whose arrogance or injustice is feared, you should say, 'O Allah, Lord of the Seven Heavens and Lord of the Immense Throne, be my Protector against so-and-so, the son of so-and-so, and his followers among Your creatures so that none of them exceeds the bounds towards me or oppresses me. Your protection is mighty and Your praise is great. There is no god but You.'"

الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سويد ← ثُمَامَۃُ ابْنُ عُقْبَۃَ ← اْلَٔا عْمَشِ، ← عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُوْ نُعَیْمِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا یُوْنُسُ ، عَنِ مِنْھَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍوقَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا َسعِیْدُ بْنُ جُبَیْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسِؓ قَالَ: إِذَا أَتَیْتَ سُلْطَانًا مَھِیْبًا، تَخَافُ أَنْ یَسْطُوَبِکَ، فَقُل: اللہُ أَکْبَرُ ، اللہُ أَعَزُّ مَنْ خَلْقِہِ جَمَیْعًا، اللہُ أَعَذُّ مِمَّا أَخَافُ وَأَخْزَرُ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِاللہِ الَّزِيْ لَا إِلَہَ إِلَّا ھُوَ۔ الْمُمْسِکُ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ أَنْ یَقَعْنَ عَلَی اْلَٔا رْضِ إِلَّا بِاإِذْنِہِ۔مَنْ شَرَّ عَبْدِکَ فُلَان، وَجُنُوْدِہِ وَأَتْبَاعِہِ وَأَشْیَاعِہِ مِنَ الْجِنَّ وَالْاإِ نْسِ ، اللَّھُمَّ کُنْ جَارَالِيْ مَنْ شَرَّھِمْ ، جَلَّ ثَنَاوُکَٔ، وَعَزَّ جَارُکَ، وَتَبَارَکٔ اسْمُکَٔ، وَلَا إِلَہَ غَیْرُکَٔ۔ثَلاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

Ibn 'Abbas said, "When you go to an awesome ruler and fear that he will attack you, say, 'Allah is greater. Allah is mightier than all His creation and Allah is greater than all that is feared and all that you are wary of. I seek refuge with Allah. There is no god but Him, the One who keeps the seven heavens from falling onto the earth by nothing except His permission, from the evil of your slave so-and-so and his armies and followers and supporters, both among jinn and men. O Allah, be my protector against their evil. Your praise is great and Your protection is immense, Blessed is Your Name. There is no god but You' three times."

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ← مِنْھَالِ بْنِ عَمْرٍوقَالَ: ← يُونُسَ ← أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ،

حَدَّثَنَا مُوْسَی قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُکَیْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِالْعَزِیْزِ بْنِ قَیْسٍ، أَخْبَرَنِيْ أَبِی، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسِؓ حَدَّثَہُ قَالَ: مَنْ نَزَلَ بِہِ ھَمٌّ أَوْ اغَمٌّ أَوْکَرْبٔ أوْ خَافَ مِنْ سُلْطَان ، فَدَعَا بِھَوُلَا ءِ اسْتُجِیْبَ لَہُ: أَسْأَلُکَ بِلَا إِلَہَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ، وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِیْمِ، وَأَسْأَلُکَ بِلَا إِلَہَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ، َورَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْکَرِیْمِ، وَأَسْأَلُکَٔ بِلَا إِلَہَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَاْلَٔا رْضِیْنَ السَّبْعِ وَمَا فَیْھِنَّ ، إِنَّکَ عَلَی کُلَّ شَيْءٍ قَدِیْرٌ، ثُمَّ سَلِ اللہَ حَاجَتَکَٔ

Ibn 'Abbas said, "Whoever has a worry, sorrow or grief or fears a ruler, should use this supplication and he will be answered. It is: 'I ask You by (the words) "There is no god but You, the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Immense Throne" and I ask You by (the words) "There is no god but You, the Lord of the seven heavens and the Lord of the Immense Throne" and I ask You by (the words) "There is no god but You, the Lord of the seven heavens and the seven earths and what is in them. You have power over all things.'" Then he should ask for what he needs."

أَبِی، أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسِؓ ← سُکَیْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِالْعَزِیْزِ بْنِ قَیْسٍ، ← مُوسَى

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَۃَ، عَنْ عَلِيَّ بْنِ عَلِيَّ قَالَ:سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْمُتَوَکَّلِ النَّاجِيَّ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُوْ سَعِیْدِ الْخُدْرِيُّ ؓ ، عَنِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ:((مَا مَنْ مُسْلِمٍ یَدْعُوْ۔لَیْسَ بِیِاثْمٍ وَلَا بِقَطِیْعَۃِ رَحَیمٍ۔إِلَّا أَعْطَاہُ للہُ عَزَّوَجَلَّ إِحْدَی ثَلَاثٍ: إِمَّا أَنْ یُعَجَّلَ لَہُ دَعْوَتَہَ، وَإِمَّاأَنْ یَدَّ خِرَھَالَہُ فِي الّاْ خِرَۃٍ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ یَدْفَعَ عَنْہُ مِنَ السُّوْءِ مَثْلَھَا))، قَالَ: إِذَانُکْثِرُ، قَالَ: ((اللہُ أَکْثَرُ))

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "No Muslim makes supplication unless he is someone who has cut off his relatives but that he is given one of three things: either his supplication is answered quickly, or it is stored up for him in the Next World, or an evil equal to it is averted from him." It was said, "Then many supplications will be made." He replied, "Allah has more still to give."

((اللہُ أَکْثَرُ)) ← إِذَانُکْثِرُ، ← أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ← أَبَا الْمُتَوَكِّلِ النَّاجِيَّ ← عَلِيَّ بْنِ عَلِيَّ قَالَ: ← حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ ← إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شَیْبَۃَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ أَبِي الْفُدَیْکِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِيْ عَبْدُاللہِ بْنُ مَوْھَبٍ، عَنْ عَمَّہِ عُبَیْدِاللہِ، عَنْ أَبِيْ ھُرَیْرَۃَ ؓ ، عْنِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: ((مَا مِنْ مُوْمَنٍ یَنْصِبُ وَجْھَہُ إلَی اللہِ یَسْأَلُہُ مَسْأَلَۃًً، إِلَّا أَعْطَاہُ إِیَّاھَا، إِمَّا عَجَّلَھَا لَہُ فِي الدُّنْیَا ، وَإِمَّا ذَخَرَ ھَا لَہُ فِي اْلَا خِرَۃٍ مَالَمْ یُعَجِلُ)) قَالُوْا: یَارَسُوْلَ اللہِ! وَمَا عَجَلَتُہُ؟ قَالَ: ((یَقُوْلُ :وَ دَعَوْتُ ،وَدَعَوْتُ ، وَلَا أُرَاہُ یُسْتَجَابُ لِيْ))۔

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "No believer turns his face to Allah and asks Him for something but that He gives it to him, either by giving it to him sooner in this world or storing it up for him in the Next World, as long as he does not try to make it come quickly." They asked, "Messenger of Allah, what does 'making it come quickly' mean?" He said, "He says, 'I asked and asked and do not think that I will be answered.'"

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← عَمَّہِ عُبَیْدِاللہِ، ← عَبْدُاللہِ بْنُ مَوْھَبٍ، ← ابْنُ أَبِي الْفُدَيْكِ، ← ابن شيبة،

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُوْبْنُ مَرْزُوْقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ، عَنْ قَتَادَۃَ، عَنْ سَعِیْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيْ ھُرَیْرَۃَؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ:((لَیْسَ شَيْ ءٌ أَکْرَمَ عَلَی اللہِ مَنَ الدُّعَاءِ۔))

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Nothing is dearer to Allah than supplication."

النَّبِيَّ قَالَ:((لَیْسَ شَيْ ءٌ أَکْرَمَ عَلَی اللہِ مَنَ الدُّعَاءِ۔)) ← أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ← قَتَادَةَ ← عِمْرَانُ، ← عَمْرُوْبْنُ مَرْزُوْقٍ

حَدَّثَنَا خَلِیْفَۃُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُوْ دَاوُدَ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَۃَ، عَنْ سَعِیْدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيْ ھُرَیْرَۃَ، عَنِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: ((أْشْرَفُ الْعِبَادَۃِ الدُّعَاءُ۔)

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The noblest act of worship is supplication."

((أْشْرَفُ الْعِبَادَۃِ الدُّعَاءُ۔) ← النَّبِيِّ ← أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ← قَتَادَةَ ← عِمْرَانُ، ← أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ← خَلِيفَةُ،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِیْدِ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَۃُ، عَنْ مَنْصُوْرِ، عَنْ ذَرَّ، عَنْ یُسَیْعِ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِیرِ ؓ، عَنِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ: ((إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ ھُوَ الْعِبَادَۃُ))، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: (ادْعُوْنِيْ أَسْتَجِبْ لَکُمْ)

An-Nu'man ibn Bashir reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Supplication is worship.' Then he recited, 'Call on Me and I will answer you.'"

((إِنَّ الدُّعَاءَ ھُوَ الْعِبَادَۃُ))، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ: (ادْعُوْنِيْ أَسْتَجِبْ لَکُمْ) ← النَّبِيِّ ← النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ بَشِيرٍ، ← یُسَیْعِ، ← ذَرٍّ، ← مَنْصُورٌ، ← شُعْبَةُ، ← أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ،

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَدُْاللہِ، عَنِ الْمُبَارَکِٔ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ ، عَنْ عَاشَۃَ ؓ قَالَتْ: سُثِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَيُّ الْعِبَادَۃِ أَفْضَلُ؟ قَالَ: ((دُعَاءُ الْمَرْءِ لِنَفْسِہِ))

'A'isha said, "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked, 'Which type of worship is best?' He replied, 'A man's supplication for himself.'"

((دُعَاءُ الْمَرْءِ لِنَفْسِہِ)) ← سُثِلَ النَّبِيُّ أَيُّ الْعِبَادَۃِ أَفْضَلُ؟ ← عَاشَۃَ ← عَطَاءٍ، ← الْمُبَارَکِٔ بْنِ حَسَّانَ ← عَبْدُاللٰہِ،
