حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَمَّا يَقْتُلُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنْ الدَّوَابِّ قَالَ خَمْسٌ لَا جُنَاحَ فِي قَتْلِهِنَّ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُنَّ فِي الْحَرَمِ الْعَقْرَبُ وَالْفَأْرَةُ وَالْغُرَابُ وَالْحِدَأَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ

It was narrated from Saalim that his father said: The Prophet (PBUH) was asked what animals a muhrim (pilgrim in ihram) could kill. He said: “There are five for which there is no sin in killing them in the Haram zone: scorpions, mice, crows, kites and vicious dogs"

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلَاثٍ الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ إِنَّمَا نَحْفَظُهُ عَنْ سَالِمٍ يَعْنِي الشُّؤْمَ

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "A bad omen may be found in three things: a horse, a woman or a house."

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, from the Prophet (PBUH) who said: "The one who misses 'Asr is like the one who loses his family and wealth."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رِوَايَةً وَقَالَ مَرَّةً يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَتْرُكُوا النَّارَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ حِينَ تَنَامُونَ

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, who narrated it from his father and on one occasion attributed it to the Prophet (PBUH): "Do not leave any fire burning in your houses when you go to sleep."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ رَأَى رَجُلٌ أَنَّ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ لَيْلَةُ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ أَوْ كَذَا وَكَذَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرَى رُؤْيَاكُمْ قَدْ تَوَاطَأَتْ فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْبَوَاقِي فِي الْوِتْرِ مِنْهَا

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father that a man thought that Laylat al-Qadr was on the twenty-seventh or such and such. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "I see your dreams are in agreement; seek it in the last ten (nights), on the odd numbered ones.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ سَمِعَ سَالِمًا عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمِعَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَأَبِي وَأَبِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ قَالَ عُمَرُ فَوَاللَّهِ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَا ذَاكِرًا وَلَا آثِرًا

It was narrated from az-Zuhri, who heard Saalim (narrate) from his father that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) heard 'Umar (RA) saying: By my father, by my father. He said: "Allah, may He be exalted, forbids you to swear by your fathers.” 'Umar said: By Allah, I have not sworn by them, whether on my own behalf or narrating it from someone else.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا إِلَّا كَلْبَ صَيْدٍ أَوْ مَاشِيَةٍ نَقَصَ مِنْ أَجْرِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطَانِ

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for hunting or herding livestock, two qiraats will be deducted from his reward every day."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُهُ فِي الْحَقِّ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "There is no (justifiable) envy except in two cases: a man to whom Allah gives (causes to learn) the Qur'aan and he recites it during the night and during the day, and a man to whom Allah gives wealth, and he spends it during the night anti during the day."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُؤَذِّنَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, from the Prophet (PBUH)"Bilaal gives the call to prayer when it still night, so eat and drink until you hear the call of Ibn Umm Maktoom.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ بَاعَ عَبْدًا وَلَهُ مَالٌ فَمَالُهُ لِلْبَائِعِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ الْمُبْتَاعُ وَمَنْ بَاعَ نَخْلًا مُؤَبَّرًا فَالثَّمَرَةُ لِلْبَائِعِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ الْمُبْتَاعُ

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, from the Prophet (PBUH) who said: "Whoever sells a slave, his property belongs to the one who sold him, unless the buyer stipulated otherwise. And whoever sells a pollinated palm tree, the crop belongs to the one who sold it, unless the buyer stipulated otherwise."

lt was narrated from Saalim, from his father, from the Prophet (PBUH): "Whoever among you (wants to) come to Jumu'ah, let him do ghusl."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلًا يَعِظُ أَخَاهُ فِي الْحَيَاءِ فَقَالَ الْحَيَاءُ مِنْ الْإِيمَانِ

It was narrated from Saalim from his father that the Prophet (PBUH) heard a man exhorting his brother to be modest, and he said: "Modesty is part of faith."
