حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ فَالْأَمِيرُ الَّذِي عَلَى النَّاسِ رَاعٍ وَهُوَ مَسْئُولٌ عَنْ رَعِيَّتِهِ وَالرَّجُلُ رَاعٍ عَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ وَهُوَ مَسْئُولٌ وَالْمَرْأَةُ رَاعِيَةٌ عَلَى بَيْتِ زَوْجِهَا وَهِيَ مَسْئُولَةٌ وَالْعَبْدُ رَاعٍ عَلَى مَالِ سَيِّدِهِ وَهُوَ مَسْئُولٌ أَلَا فَكُلُّكُمْ رَاعٍ وَكُلُّكُمْ مَسْئُولٌ

It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible. The ruler of the people is a hepherd and responsible for his flock. A man is the shepherd of his household and is responsible, A woman is the shepherd of her husband's house and children and is responsible. The slave is the shepherd of his master's wealth and is responsible. Each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَفَلَ مِنْ حَجٍّ أَوْ غَزْوٍ فَعَلَا فَدْفَدًا مِنْ الْأَرْضِ أَوْ شَرَفًا قَالَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ سَاجِدُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ

It was narrated that ibn 'Umar said: When the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) returned from Hajj or an expedition or 'Umrah, when he reached high ground or the top of a hillock, he would say:"Allah is most great, Allah is most great, there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner or associate; His is the Dominion, to Him be praise, and He has power over all things- Returning, repenting, prostrating and worshipping our Lord and praising Him. Allah has fulfilled His promise, supported His slave and defeated the confederates alone.”

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَدْ أُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي الضَّبَّ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْهُ وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: Some lizard (meat) was brought to the Prophet (PBUH) and he did not eat it but he did not forbid it.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ الْيَهُودَ أَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِرَجُلٍ وَامْرَأَةٍ مِنْهُمْ قَدْ زَنَيَا فَقَالَ مَا تَجِدُونَ فِي كِتَابِكُمْ فَقَالُوا نُسَخِّمُ وُجُوهَهُمَا وَيُخْزَيَانِ فَقَالَ كَذَبْتُمْ إِنَّ فِيهَا الرَّجْمَ فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ فَجَاءُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ وَجَاءُوا بِقَارِئٍ لَهُمْ أَعْوَرَ يُقَالُ لَهُ ابْنُ صُورِيَا فَقَرَأَ حَتَّى إِذَا انْتَهَى إِلَى مَوْضِعٍ مِنْهَا وَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ ارْفَعْ يَدَكَ فَرَفَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلُوحُ فَقَالَ أَوْ قَالُوا يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّ فِيهَا الرَّجْمَ وَلَكِنَّا كُنَّا نَتَكَاتَمُهُ بَيْنَنَا فَأَمَرَ بِهِمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرُجِمَا قَالَ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يُجَانِئُ عَلَيْهَا يَقِيهَا الْحِجَارَةَ بِنَفْسِهِ

It was narrated from Ibn Umar that the Jews brought to the prophet (PBUH) a man and a women from among them who has committed zina. He said, "What do you find in your Book?" They said: We blacken their faces and they will be disgraced. He said: "You are lying in it is [mentioned] stoning. Bring the Torah and recite it if you are telling the truth." So they brought the Torah and they brought a one-eyed reciter who was called Ibn Sooriya, and he recited it until, when he reached some part of it, he placed his hand over it. It was said: Lift your hand. So he lifted his hand and there it (the verse of stoning) appeared. He, or they, said: O Muhammad, in it is [mentioned] stoning but we used to conceal it (and avoid talking about it) amongst Ourselves. Then the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) ordered that they be stoned. He [Ibn 'Umar] said; And I saw him (the man) trying to shield her from the stones with his body.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ كَانَ النَّاسُ يَرَوْنَ الرُّؤْيَا فَيَقُصُّونَهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَوْ قَالَ أَسْمَعُ رُؤْيَاكُمْ قَدْ تَوَاطَأَتْ عَلَى السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مُتَحَرِّيَهَا فَلْيَتَحَرَّهَا فِي السَّبْعِ الْأَوَاخِرِ

It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: The people would see dreams then tell the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) about them. He said: "I think - or I hear - that your drains all together refer to the last seven nights (of Ramadan). whoever among you wants to Seek it (Laylat al-Qadr), let him it in the last seven nights."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ تَطْلِيقَةً وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَرْجِعَهَا ثُمَّ يُمْهِلَهَا حَتَّى تَحِيضَ حَيْضَةً أُخْرَى ثُمَّ يُمْهِلَهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ ثُمَّ يُطَلِّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمَسَّهَا قَالَ وَتِلْكَ الْعِدَّةُ الَّتِي أَمَرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ يُطَلَّقَ لَهَا النِّسَاءُ فَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا سُئِلَ عَنْ الرَّجُلِ يُطَلِّقُ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ فَيَقُولُ أَمَّا أَنَا فَطَلَّقْتُهَا وَاحِدَةً أَوْ اثْنَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُرْجِعَهَا ثُمَّ يُمْهِلَهَا حَتَّى تَحِيضَ حَيْضَةً أُخْرَى ثُمَّ يُمْهِلَهَا حَتَّى تَطْهُرَ ثُمَّ يُطَلِّقَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمَسَّهَا وَأَمَّا أَنْتَ طَلَّقْتَهَا ثَلَاثًا فَقَدْ عَصَيْتَ اللَّهَ بِمَا أَمَرَكَ بِهِ مِنْ طَلَاقِ امْرَأَتِكَ وَبَانَتْ مِنْكَ

It was narrated from Naafi’ That the Umar divorced his wife once (one talaaq) when she was menstruating. 'Umar asked the prophet (PBUH) (about that) and he instructed htm to take her back hen wait until she had gone rough another menstrual cycle then to wait until she became pure, then to divorce her before being intimate with her. He said: “That is the iddah (prescribed period) that Allah (PBUH) has enjoined for the divorce of women." If lbn 'Umar was asked about a man who divorced his wife when die was menstruating, he would say: As for me, I divorced her once or twice, then the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) instructed him to take her back then wait until she had gore through another menstrual cycle then to wait until she became pure, then to divorce her before having been intimate with her. But as for you, you have divorced her three times, so you have disobeyed Allah in what He enjoined upon you with regard to divorcing your wife; she is irrevocably divorced from you.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الْيَدَيْنِ يَسْجُدَانِ كَمَا يَسْجُدُ الْوَجْهُ فَإِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَجْهَهُ فَلْيَضَعْ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَهُ فَلْيَرْفَعْهُمَا

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar and attributed (to the Prophet (PBUH)), who said: "The hands prostrate as the face does. When one of you puts his face on the ground, let him put his hands (on the ground) too, and when he lilts his face, let him lift them too.”

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ بَاعَ نَخْلًا قَدْ أُبِّرَتْ فَثَمَرَتُهَا لِلْبَائِعِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشْتَرِطَ الْمُبْتَاعُ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar Said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said : "Whoever sells date palms that Have been pollinated, the produce belongs to the seller, unless the buyer Stipulates otherwise."

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) cut off the hand of a thief for a shield, the value of which was three dirhams.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ كَانَتْ تُكْرَى عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَا عَلَى الْأَرْبِعَاءِ وَشَيْءٍ مِنْ التِّبْنِ لَا أَدْرِي كَمْ هُوَ وَإِنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يُكْرِي أَرْضَهُ فِي عَهْدِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعَهْدِ عُمَرَ وَعَهْدِ عُثْمَانَ وَصَدْرِ إِمَارَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِهَا بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ رَافِعًا يُحَدِّثُ فِي ذَلِكَ بِنَهْيِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَاهُ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ فَتَرَكَهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَكَانَ لَا يُكْرِيهَا فَكَانَ إِذَا سُئِلَ يَقُولُ زَعَمَ ابْنُ خَدِيجٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كِرَاءِ الْمَزَارِعِ

It was narrated that Naaff' said, narrating from Ibn 'Umar: I know that land was leased at tire time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) in return for what grows on the edges of the small streams and a certain amount of straw - I do not know how much - and that Ibn 'Umar used to lease out his land at the time of Abu Bakr, at the time of 'Umar, at the time of 'Uthmaan and at the beginning of Mu'aawiyah's caliphate until, towards the end of it, he heard that Raafi' was narrating that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) had forbidden it. So he went to him, and I was with him, and he asked him ( a bout that). He (Raafi') said: yes the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade leasing out farmland. So Ibn 'Umar stopped doing that and he did net lease it out. And if he was asked about it he would say: Ibn Khadeej says that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade leasing out farmland.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَلَا لَا تُحْتَلَبَنَّ مَاشِيَةُ امْرِئٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ أَيُحِبُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ تُؤْتَى مَشْرُبَتُهُ فَيُكْسَرَ بَابُهَا ثُمَّ يُنْتَثَلَ مَا فِيهَا فَإِنَّمَا فِي ضُرُوعِ مَوَاشِيهِمْ طَعَامُ أَحَدِهِمْ أَلَا فَلَا تُحْتَلَبَنَّ مَاشِيَةُ امْرِئٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ أَوْ قَالَ بِأَمْرِهِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "No one should milk the livestock of another person except with his permission. Would one of you like his storeroom to be raided and its door to be broken down and its contents to be taken? In the udders of their livestock is the food of one of them, so no one should milk the livestock of another person except with his permission or on his instructions."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَهَا وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ فِي بَيْتِهِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ فِي بَيْتِهِ قَالَ وَحَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ حِينَ يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ وَيُنَادِي الْمُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ أُرَاهُ قَالَ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ وَرَكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ فِي بَيْتِهِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: I prayed with the Prophet (PBUH) two rak'ahs before Zuhr and two afterwards, two rak'ahs after Maghrib in his house, and two rak'ahs after 'Isha' in his house. And Hafsah told me that he used to pray two rak'ahs when dawn broke and the caller was giving the call to prayer Ayyoob said: I think he said: Two brief (rak'ahs) - and two rak'ahs after Jumu'ah in his house.
