حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى بَعْضِ بَنَاتِهِ وَهِيَ فِي السَّوْقِ فَأَخَذَهَا وَوَضَعَهَا فِي حِجْرِهِ حَتَّى قُبِضَتْ فَدَمَعَتْ عَيْنَاهُ فَبَكَتْ أُمُّ أَيْمَنَ فَقِيلَ لَهَا أَتَبْكِينَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَتْ أَلَا أَبْكِي وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبْكِي قَالَ إِنِّي لَمْ أَبْكِ وَهَذِهِ رَحْمَةٌ إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ تَخْرُجُ نَفْسُهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ جَنْبَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Prophet (PBUH) came to one of his daughters when she was dying, and he held her in his lap until she died. Then his eyes filled with tears and Umm Aiman wept. It was said to her: Are you weeping in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)? She said: Why shouldn't I weep when the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) is weeping? He said: "I did not weep; this is compassion. Verily, the believer's soul departs from his body whilst he is praising Allah, may He be glorified and exalted."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ وَعَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ الْمَعْنَى قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قُمْتُ أُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ حَتَّى أَخَذَ بِعَضُدِي أَوْ بِيَدِي حَتَّى أَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: I got up to pray with the Prophet (PBUH) and I stood on his left. He reached back with his hand and took hold of my upper arm - or my arm - and made me stand on his right.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ غَيْلَانَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْمَعَافِرِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي حَنَشٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فِي أُنَاسٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ أَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلُوهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ائْتِهَا عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ إِذَا كَانَ فِي الْفَرْجِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: This verse - "Your wives are a tilth for you" [al- Baqarah 2:223] - it was revealed concerning some of the Ansar who came to the Prophet (PBUH) and asked him, and the Messenger of Allah ((PBUH);O said: "Have intercourse with her in any position, so long as it is in the vagina."

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا قَزَعَةُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُوَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَى مَا أَتَيْتُكُمْ بِهِ مِنْ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَى أَجْرًا إِلَّا أَنْ تَوَدُّوا اللَّهَ وَأَنْ تَقَرَّبُوا إِلَيْهِ بِطَاعَتِهِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "I am not asking you for any reward for what I have brought to you of clear signs of guidance, except that you love Allah and drew close to Him by obeying Him."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ تَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ غَرْفَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ فَتَمَضْمَضَ بِهَا وَاسْتَنْثَرَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ غَرْفَةً فَجَعَلَ بِهَا هَكَذَا يَعْنِي أَضَافَهَا إِلَى يَدِهِ الْأُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ بِهَا وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ غَرْفَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ فَغَسَلَ بِهَا يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثُمَّ أَخَذَ غَرْفَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ فَغَسَلَ بِهَا يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ غَرْفَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ ثُمَّ رَشَّ عَلَى رِجْلِهِ الْيُمْنَى حَتَّى غَسَلَهَا ثُمَّ أَخَذَ غَرْفَةً أُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ بِهَا رِجْلَهُ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that he did wudoo': he washed his face, then he took a handful of water and rinsed his mouth and nose with it. Then he took a handful of water and did this to it - i.e., he scooped it with two hands - and he washed his face with it. Then he took a handful of water and washed his right arm with it. Then he took a handful of water and washed his left arm with it. Then he wiped his head; then he took a handful of water and sprinkled it on his right foot until he washed it, then he took another handful and washed his left foot with it. Then he said: This is what I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ فَرْقَدٍ السَّبَخِيِّ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً جَاءَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِابْنٍ لَهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا بِهِ جُنُونٌ يَأْخُذُهُ عِنْدَ غَدَائِنَا وَعَشَائِنَا فَيَخْبُثُ عَلَيْنَا فَمَسَحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَدْرَهُ وَدَعَا فَثَعَّ ثَعَّةً يَعْنِي سَعَلَ فَخَرَجَ مِنْ جَوْفِهِ مِثْلُ الْجَرْوِ الْأَسْوَدِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that a woman brought a son of hers to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and said: This son of mine is possessed; it affects him at our lunch and dinner and spoils our meals. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) wiped his chest and prayed for him, and he coughed, then something like a little black dog came out of his mouth.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَنْ الْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَوَاجِبٌ هُوَ قَالَ لَا وَمَنْ شَاءَ اغْتَسَلَ وَسَأُحَدِّثُكُمْ عَنْ بَدْءِ الْغُسْلِ كَانَ النَّاسُ مُحْتَاجِينَ وَكَانُوا يَلْبَسُونَ الصُّوفَ وَكَانُوا يَسْقُونَ النَّخْلَ عَلَى ظُهُورِهِمْ وَكَانَ مَسْجِدُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ضَيِّقًا مُتَقَارِبَ السَّقْفِ فَرَاحَ النَّاسُ فِي الصُّوفِ فَعَرِقُوا وَكَانَ مِنْبَرُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَصِيرًا إِنَّمَا هُوَ ثَلَاثُ دَرَجَاتٍ فَعَرِقَ النَّاسُ فِي الصُّوفِ فَثَارَتْ أَرْوَاحُهُمْ أَرْوَاحُ الصُّوفِ فَتَأَذَّى بَعْضُهُمْ بِبَعْضٍ حَتَّى بَلَغَتْ أَرْوَاحُهُمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِذَا جِئْتُمْ الْجُمُعَةَ فَاغْتَسِلُوا وَلْيَمَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ أَطْيَبِ طِيبٍ إِنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ

It was narrated from Tkrimah that a man asked Ibn 'Abbas (RA) about doing ghusl on Friday: is it obligatory? He said: No, but whoever wishes may do ghusl, and i will tell you how ghusl was first prescribed. The people were poor and they used to wear wool, and they would carry water to the palm trees on their backs. The mosque of the Prophet (PBUH) was small, with a low ceiling, so the people in their woollen garments would start to sweat. The minbar of the Prophet (PBUH) was short; it only had three steps. So the people would sweat in their wool, and their smell and the smell of the wool would become prominent, and thus they bothered one another, until the smell reached the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) when he was on the minbar. So he said: "O people, when you come to jumu'ah do ghusl and let one of you put on the best perfume he has."

حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ وَقَعَ عَلَى بَهِيمَةٍ فَاقْتُلُوهُ وَاقْتُلُوا الْبَهِيمَةَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Whoever has intercourse with an animal, kill him and kill the animal."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي التَّقْدِيمِ وَالتَّأْخِيرِ فِي الرَّمْيِ وَالذَّبْحِ وَالْحَلْقِ لَا حَرَجَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said concerning changing the order in which stoning the ]amrah, slaughtering the sacrifice and shaving the head are done: "There is no problem."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ الْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلِّمْهُ التَّأْوِيلَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "O Allah, give Ibn 'Abbas wisdom and teach him understanding of Qur'an."

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَدِّي هِشَامَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ بَعَثَ الْوَلِيدُ يَسْأَلُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ كَيْفَ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ فَقَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُتَبَذِّلًا مُتَخَشِّعًا فَأَتَى الْمُصَلَّى فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَمَا يُصَلِّي فِي الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى

Isma'eel bin Rabee'ah bin Hisham bin Ishaq bin 'Abdullah bin Kinanah said: I heard my grandfather Hisham bin Ishaq bin 'Abdullah narrate that his father said: al-Waleed sent word asking Ibn 'Abbas (RA): What did the Messenger of Allah PBUH) do when he prayed for rain ( istisqa )? He said; The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) went out wearing scruffy clothes and with a humble attitude, to the prayer place, then he prayed two rak’ahs as he prayed on (Eld) al- Fitr and (Eid) al-Adha,

بَعَثَ الْوَلِيدُ يَسْأَلُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ كَيْفَ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ ← أَبِيهِ ← جَدِّي هِشَامَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كِنَانَةَ، ← أَبُو سَعِيدٍ
