حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ قَالَ أُنْبِئْتُ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَجَاءَ الْمَلَكُ بِهَا حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى مَوْضِعِ زَمْزَمَ فَضَرَبَ بِعَقِبِهِ فَفَارَتْ عَيْنًا فَعَجِلَتْ الْإِنْسَانَةُ فَجَعَلَتْ تَقْدَحُ فِي شَنَّتِهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَحِمَ اللَّهُ أُمَّ إِسْمَاعِيلَ لَوْلَا أَنَّهَا عَجِلَتْ لَكَانَتْ زَمْزَمُ عَيْنًا مَعِينًا
It is narrated that Sa'eed bin Jubair said: Ibn 'Abbas (RA)said: The angel brought her [Hajar] to the site of Zamzam, then he struck (the ground) with his heel and the spring started flowing. With human haste she started scooping the water into her waterskin. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "May Allah have mercy on the mother of Isma'ee). Had she not been hasty, Zamzam would have been a stream flowing on the surface of the earth."
