حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَوْ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ

Sulaiman bin Yasar said: One of the two sons of al-' Abbas, either al-Fadl or 'Abdullah, told me: I was seated behind the Prophet (PBUH) on his mount and a man came and said: My father or my mother - Yahya said: I think it most likely that he said: my father is old and has not done Hajj. If I put him on a camel he cannot sit firmly and if I tie him to it I do not feel that will be safe for him; can I do Hajj on his behalf? He said: "Would you pay off a debt if he owed it?" He said: Yes. He said: "So do Hajj on his behalf."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنْبَأَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ضَمَّنِي إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ عَلِّمْهُ الْكِتَابَ

It was narrated that'Ikrimah said: Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) embraced me and said: "O Allah, teach him the Book."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَمَّارٌ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ خَمْسٍ وَسِتِّينَ

'Ammar the freed slave of Banu Hashim narrated: I heard Ibn 'Abbas (RA) say: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) died when he was sixty- five.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مِنْ الْخَلَاءِ فَقُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ طَعَامٌ فَعَرَضُوا عَلَيْهِ الْوَضُوءَ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ بِالْوُضُوءِ إِذَا قُمْتُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came out of the out- house and food was brought to him and water for zvudoo' was offered to him, but he said: "I have only been commanded to do wudoo’ when i get up to pray."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِیلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَیُّوبُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِینَارٍ عَنْ سَعِیْدٍ بْنِ الْحُوَیْزِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ اَنَّ رَسُولَ اللہِ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مِنْ الْخَلَاءِ فَقُرْبَ إِلَیْہِ طَعَامٌ فَقَالُوا أَلا نَاْتِیکَ بِوَضُوءٍ فَقَالَ أُصَلَّی فَاَتَوضَّأُ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came out of the outhouse and some iood was brought to him. They said: Shouldn't we bring you water for zvudoo '? He said: "When i want to pray I will do wudoo'."

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ صَوَّرَ صُورَةً كُلِّفَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنْ يَنْفُخَ فِيهَا وَعُذِّبَ وَلَنْ يَنْفُخَ فِيهَا وَمَنْ تَحَلَّمَ كُلِّفَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَنْ يَعْقِدَ شَعِيرَتَيْنِ أَوْ قَالَ بَيْنَ شَعِيرَتَيْنِ وَعُذِّبَ وَلَنْ يَعْقِدَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَنْ اسْتَمَعَ إِلَى حَدِيثِ قَوْمٍ يَكْرَهُونَهُ صُبَّ فِي أُذُنَيْهِ الْآنُكُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنِي الرَّصَاصَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "Whoever makes an image will be asked on the Day of Resurrection to breathe a soul into it, and he will be punished and will never be able to do it. Whoever tells lies about his dreams will be asked on the Day of Resurrection to tie two grains of barley together, and he will be punished and will never be able to do it. Whoever eavesdrops on people's conversation when they arc trying to avoid him listening to it, lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection.”

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَكَحَ مَيْمُونَةَ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ وَبَنَى بِهَا حَلَالًا بِسَرِفَ وَمَاتَتْ بِسَرِفَ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) married Maimoonah when he was in ihram, and he consummated the marriage with her when he had exited ihram in Sarif, and she died in Sarif

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فِي الْجَدِّ أَمَّا الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُهُ فَإِنَّهُ قَضَاهُ أَبًا يَعْنِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ

It was narrated that'lkrimah said: Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said concerning the (share of inheritance of the) grandfather: As for the one to whom the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "If I were to take any one among this ummah as a close friend, I would have taken him as a close friend [i.e., Abu Bakr]’ he ruled that he should be given the share of the father (if the father is dead).

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَنْبَأَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ أَبِي رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنًَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اطَّلَعْتُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا الْفُقَرَاءَ وَاطَّلَعْتُ فِي النَّارِ فَرَأَيْتُ أَكْثَرَ أَهْلِهَا النِّسَاءَ

It was narrated that Abu Raja' al-'Utaridi said: I heard Ibn 'Abbas (RA) say: Muhammad (PBUH) said: "I looked into Paradise and saw that most of its people were the poor, and i looked into Hell, and I saw that most of its people were women.”

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي السُّجُودِ فِي ص لَيْسَتْ مِنْ عَزَائِمِ السُّجُودِ وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْجُدُ فِيهَا

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that he said concerning the prostration in [Soorat] Sad: It is not among the compulsory prostrations, but i saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prostrating in it.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا الْعَوَّامُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ مُجَاهِدًا عَنْ السَّجْدَةِ الَّتِي فِي ص فَقَالَ نَعَمْ سَأَلْتُ عَنْهَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ أَتَقْرَأُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ دَاوُدَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ وَفِي آخِرِهَا فَبِهُدَاهُمْ اقْتَدِهْ قَالَ أُمِرَ نَبِيُّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْتَدِيَ بِدَاوُدَ

Al-'Awwam bin Hawshabsaid: I asked Mujahid about the prostration in [Soorat] Sad and he said: Yes, I asked Ibn 'Abbas (RA) about it and he said: Have you read this verse: "and among his progeny Dawood (David), Sulaiman (Solomon)" [al-An'am 6:84] and at the end of it, it says: "So follow their guidance" [al-An'am 6:90], Your Prophet (PBUH) was commanded to follow the example of Dawood.

أُمِرَ نَبِيُّكُمْ أَنْ يَقْتَدِيَ بِدَاوُدَ ← أَتَقْرَأُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ دَاوُدَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ وَفِي آخِرِهَا فَبِهُدَاهُمْ اقْتَدِهْ ← نَعَمْ سَأَلْتُ عَنْهَا ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ← السَّجْدَةِ الَّتِي فِي ص ← سَأَلْتُ مُجَاهِدًا ← الْعَوَّامِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ ← يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّة

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ بِتُّ عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي مِنْ اللَّيْلِ فَقُمْتُ أُصَلِّي مَعَهُ فَقُمْتُ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ فَقَالَ لِي هَكَذَا فَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِي فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: I stayed over- night in the house of my maternal aunt Maimoonah. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) got up to pray at night and I got up to pray with him, and I stood on his left. And he did like this to me; he took me by the head and made me stand on his right.
