He learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ and from senior companions, and in turn became the teacher of hundreds of Tabi'un — the generation whose preservation of his narrations forms the backbone of the major Hadith collections.

Abu Hurayrah learned directly from the Prophet ﷺ during his three years of close companionship, and supplemented his knowledge by studying with senior Sahaba in Madinah.
فَذَکَرَ نَحْوَهُ
العمرى لمن
الْبَقَرَةُ
لا يخبط ولا يعضد حمى رسول الله ولكن يهش هشا رفيقا كذا
((من حلف على منبري هذا بيمينٍ آثمةٍ، تبوأ مقعده من النار)).(1/341)
"مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَسِتَّةً مِنْ شَوَّالٍ فَكَأَنَّمَا صَامَ السَّنَةَ كُلَّهَا".
"الْفَارُّ مِنَ الطَّاعُونِ كَالْفَارِّ مِنَ الزَّحْفِ، وَالصَّابِرُ فِيهِ كَالصَّابِرِ فِي الزَّحْفِ".
"فِرَاشٌ لِلرَّجُلِ وَفِرَاشٌ لِامْرَأَتِهِ وَالثَّالِثُ للضيف والرابع للشيطان"
«فِي الضَّبُعِ إِذَا أَصَابَهَا الْمُحْرِمُ جَزَاءُ كَبْشٍ مُسِنٍّ وَتُؤْكَلُ».
«لَا يَرِثُ الْمُسْلِمُ النَّصْرَانِيَّ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ عَبْدَهُ أَوْ أَمَتَهُ».
«فِيمَا سَقَتِ الْأَنْهَارُ وَالْعُيُونُ الْعُشْرُ، وَمَا سُقِيَ بِالسَّوَانِي فَفِيهِ نِصْفُ الْعُشْرِ»
«لَا يُخْبَطُ وَلَا يُعْضَدُ حِمَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ يُهَشُّ هَشًّا رَفِيقًا»
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ
لاَ تُعْمِرُوا وَلاَ تُرْقِبُوا فَمَنْ أُعْمِرَ شَيْئًا أَوْ أُرْقِبَهُ فَهُوَ سَبِيلُ الْمِيرَاثِ
فذكر ما قدمنا ذكره من حديثه.
يا كعب بن عجرة انه لن يدخل لجنة لحم نبت من سحت.
مَنْ أَحَاطَ حَائِطًا عَلَی أَرْضٍ فَهِيَ لَهُ
فراش للرجل وفراش للمرأة وفراش للضيف والرابع للشيطان
