حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ بَلَغَ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْظَمُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا مَنْ سَأَلَ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَمْ يُحَرَّمْ فَحُرِّمَ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

It was narrated from 'Amir bin Saad, from his father, who attributed it to the Prophet (PBUH)"The Muslim who causes the greatest offence against the Muslims is the one who asks about something that was not forbidden, then it became forbidden for the people because of his asking."
