حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ جُرْمًا رَجُلًا سَأَلَ عَنْ شَيْءٍ وَنَقَّرَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أُنْزِلَ فِي ذَلِكَ الشَّيْءِ تَحْرِيمٌ مِنْ أَجْلِ مَسْأَلَتِهِ

مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 1520

It was narrated from 'Amir bin Saad bin Abi Waqqas that his father said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "One of those who commit the greatest offence against the Muslims is a man who asks about something and persists in asking about it until a prohibition is revealed concerning it because of his asking:.
