حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ أَنَّ سَعْدًا رَكِبَ إِلَى قَصْرِهِ بِالْعَقِيقِ فَوَجَدَ غُلَامًا يَخْبِطُ شَجَرًا أَوْ يَقْطَعُهُ فَسَلَبَهُ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ سَعْدٌ جَاءَهُ أَهْلُ الْغُلَامِ فَكَلَّمُوهُ أَنْ يَرُدَّ مَا أَخَذَ مِنْ غُلَامِهِمْ فَقَالَ مَعَاذَ اللَّهِ أَنْ أَرُدَّ شَيْئًا نَفَّلَنِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَى أَنْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِمْ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 1443
It was narrated from 'Amir bin Saad that Saad went to his fortress in al-'Aqeeq, where he found a slave hitting a tree to make its leaves fall or cutting it down, so he stripped him of his belongings. When Saad returned, the owners of the slave came and asked him to return what he had taken from their slave. He said: Allah forbid that I should return something that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) granted me of booty. And he refused to return it to them.
