حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لِعُمَرَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَمَا سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ رُفِعَ الْقَلَمُ عَنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ عَنْ النَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ وَعَنْ الصَّغِيرِ حَتَّى يَكْبَرَ وَعَنْ الْمُبْتَلَى حَتَّى يَعْقِلَ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 1361
It was narrated Muhammad bin Ali al-Akbar that he heard his father Ali bin Abi Talib say: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "I have been given four thing that which was not given to any of the other Prophets." I have been given the keys of the Earth, I have been named Ahmad, the dust has been made a means of purification for me and my utnmah has been made the best of nations."
