مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 4041
It was narrated that Shaqeeq said: We were sitting at the door of 'Abdullah, waiting for him to give permission for us to enter. Then Yazeed bin Mu'awiyah an-Nakha'i came and entered upon him and we said to him: Tell him that we are here. He went in and told him, and soon he came out to us and said: i know you are here, but I left you deliberately for fear of boring you. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to choose the right time to exhort us for fear of boring us.
