حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ أَبَلَغَكَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَحْمِلُ الْخَلَائِقَ عَلَى أُصْبُعٍ وَالسَّمَوَاتِ عَلَى أُصْبُعٍ وَالْأَرَضِينَ عَلَى أُصْبُعٍ وَالشَّجَرَ عَلَى أُصْبُعٍ وَالثَّرَى عَلَى أُصْبُعٍ فَضَحِكَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُهُ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ الْآيَةَ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah (RA) said: A man from the People of the Book came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said: O Abul-Qasim, have you heard that Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, will carry all living beings on one finger, and the heavens on one finger, and the earth on one and the soil on one finger? The Prophet (PBUH) smiled so broadly that his molars could be seen, then Allah revealed the words: "They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him..." [az-Zumar 39:67],
