حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فَقَامُوا صَفَّيْنِ فَقَامَ صَفٌّ خَلْفَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَفٌّ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْعَدُوِّ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالصَّفِّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَذَهَبُوا فَقَامُوا مَقَامَ أُولَئِكَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْعَدُوِّ وَجَاءَ أُولَئِكَ فَقَامُوا مَقَامَهُمْ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَامُوا فَصَلَّوْا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمُوا ثُمَّ ذَهَبُوا فَقَامُوا مَقَامَ أُولَئِكَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْعَدُوِّ وَرَجَعَ أُولَئِكَ إِلَى مَقَامِهِمْ فَصَلَّوْا لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمُوا
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 3561
It was narrated that 'Abdullah (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) led us in offering the fear prayer. They stood in two rows; one row stood behind the Prophet (PBUH) and the other stood facing the enemy. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) led the row that was behind him in praying one rak'ah, then they got up and left, and took the place of those who had been facing the enemy, and the others came and stood in their place. Then the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) led them (the second group) in praying one rak'ah , then he said the t adeem and those people got up and prayed (a second rak'ah ) by themselves. Then they said the tasleem and went and took the place of the ones who were facing the enemy, and that group came back to their place and prayed one rak'ah by themselves, then they said the tasleem.
