مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 3432
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) used to deliver khutbahs leaning on a palm trunk. When the minbar was made and he moved to it, the trunk groaned. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) went to it and embraced it, and it fell silent. He said: "If i did not embrace it, it would have groaned until the Day of Resurrection."
