حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ جَبَلَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي قَالَ كُنَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فِي بَعْثِ الْعِرَاقِ فَكَانَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ يَرْزُقُنَا التَّمْرَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَمُرُّ بِنَا فَيَقُولُ لَا تُقَارِنُوا فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْقِرَانِ إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَأْذِنَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْكُمْ أَخَاهُ
مسند امام احمد بن حنبل · Hadith 5802
Shu'bah narrated: Jabalah told me: We were in Madinah with a delegation from Iraq, and Ibn az-Zubayr provided us with dates. Ibn 'Umar passed by us and said: Do not take two together, for the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade taking two dates together, unless one of you asks his brother for permission.
