عَنْ مَوْلَی لِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ قَال: بَیْنَا أَنَا مَعَ عُثْمَانَ فِی مَالِہِ بِالْعَالِیَۃِ فِی یَوْمِ صَائِفٍ إِذْرَأَی رَجُلا یَسُوقُ بَکْرَیْنِ وَعَلَی الأَرْضِ مِثْلُ الْفَرَاشِ مِنْ الْحَرِّ، فَقَالَ: مَاعَلَی ھَذَ الَوْ أَقَامَ بِالْمَدِینَۃِ حَتَّی یَبْرُدَ، ثُمَّ بَرُوحُ، ثُمَّ دَنَا الرَّجُلُ۔ فَقَالَ: انْظُرْ مَنْ ھَذَا؟ فَقُلْتُ: أَرَی رَجُلا مُعَمَّمًا بِرِ دَائِہِ یَسُوقُ بَکْرَیْنِ، ثُمَّ دَنَا الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ: انْظُرْ فَنَظَرْتُ فَإِذَا عُمَرُبْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ، فَقُلْتُ: ھَذَا أَمِیرُ الْمُوْمِیِینَ۔ فَقَامَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ فَأَخْرَجَ رَأْسَہُ مِنَ الْبَابِ فَآذَاہُ نَفْحُ السَّمُومِ فَأَعَادَرَأْسَہُ حَتَّی حَاذَاہُ، فَقَالَ: مَاأَخْرَجَکَ ھَذِہ السَّاعَۃَ؟ فَقَالَ : بَکْرَانِ مِنْ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَۃِ تَخَلَّفَا، وَقَدْ مُضِیَ بِإِبِل الصَّدَقَۃِ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُلْحِقَھُمَا بِالْحِمَی وَخَثِیثُ أَنْ یَضِیعَا فَیَسْأَلَنِی اللہُ عَنْھُمَا، فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِیَ اللہُ عَنْہُ: یَاأَمِیرَ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ھَلُمَّ إِلَی الْمَاءِ وَالظِلَلِّ وَنَکْفِیکَ۔ فَقَالَ: عُدْ إِلَی ظِلِّکَ، فَقَالَ: عِنْدَنَا مَنْ وَنَکْفِیکَ۔ فَقَالَ: عُدْ إِلَی ظِلِّکَ وَمَضَی، فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ: مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ یَنُظُرَإِنَّ الْقَوِیِّ الأَمِینِ فَلْیَنْظُرْإِلَی ھَذَا فَعَادَ إِلَیْنَا فَأَلْقَی نَفْسَہُ۔ أَخْرَجَ الأَوَّلَ مِنْ کِتَابِ الزَّکَاۃِ، وَالثَّانِیَ مِنْ کِتَابِ اخْتِلافِ عَلِیَّ وَعَبْدِ اللہِ مِمَّالَمْ یَسْمَعِ الرَّبِیعُ مِنَ الشَّافِعِیّ
