حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَی عَنْ لَيْثِ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ عَبَّادٍ عَنْ أُمِّ الدَّرْدَائِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَائِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ غَزْوَةٌ فِي الْبَحْرِ مِثْلُ عَشْرِ غَزَوَاتٍ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالَّذِي يَسْدَرُ فِي الْبَحْرِ کَالْمُتَشَحِّطِ فِي دَمِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ

It was narrated from Abu Darda' that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "A military expedition by sea is like ten expeditions by land. The one who suffers from seasickness is like one who gets drenched in his own blood in the cause of Allah." (Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْجُبَيْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا قَيْسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْکِنْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عُفَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ الشَّامِيُّ عَنْ سُلَيْمِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ شَهِيدُ الْبَحْرِ مِثْلُ شَهِيدَيْ الْبَرِّ وَالْمَائِدُ فِي الْبَحْرِ کَالْمُتَشَحِّطِ فِي دَمِهِ فِي الْبَرِّ وَمَا بَيْنَ الْمَوْجَتَيْنِ کَقَاطِعِ الدُّنْيَا فِي طَاعَةِ اللَّهِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَکَلَ مَلَکَ الْمَوْتِ بِقَبْضِ الْأَرْوَاحِ إِلَّا شَهِيدَ الْبَحْرِ فَإِنَّهُ يَتَوَلَّی قَبْضَ أَرْوَاحِهِمْ وَيَغْفِرُ لِشَهِيدِ الْبَرِّ الذُّنُوبَ کُلَّهَا إِلَّا الدَّيْنَ وَلِشَهِيدِ الْبَحْرِ الذُّنُوبَ وَالدَّيْنَ

It was narrated that Sulaim bin 'Amir said: I heard Abu Umamah saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H say: "The martyr at sea is like two martyrs on land, and the one who suffers seasickness is like one who gets drenched in his own blood on land. The time spent between one wave and the next is like a lifetime spent in obedience to Allah. Allah has appointed the Angel of death to seize souls, except for the martyr at sea, for Allah Himself seizes their souls. He forgives the martyrs on land for all sins except debt, but (He forgIves) the martyr at sea all his sins and his debt." (Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ح و حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ کُلُّهُمْ عَنْ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَبِي حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا يَوْمٌ لَطَوَّلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ حَتَّی يَمْلِکَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِي يَمْلِکُ جَبَلَ الدَّيْلَمِ وَالْقُسْطَنْطِينِيَّةَ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "Even if there was only one day left of this world, Allah would make it last until a man from my household took possession of (the mountain of) Dailam and Constantinople."(Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ أَنْبَأَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ صَبِيحٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبَانَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَتُفْتَحُ عَلَيْکُمْ الْآفَاقُ وَسَتُفْتَحُ عَلَيْکُمْ مَدِينَةٌ يُقَالُ لَهَا قَزْوِينُ مَنْ رَابَطَ فِيهَا أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا أَوْ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً کَانَ لَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ عَمُودٌ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ عَلَيْهِ زَبَرْجَدَةٌ خَضْرَائُ عَلَيْهَا قُبَّةٌ مِنْ يَاقُوتَةٍ حَمْرَائَ لَهَا سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مِصْرَاعٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ عَلَی کُلِّ مِصْرَاعٍ زَوْجَةٌ مِنْ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever goes out in the cause of Allah will have the equivalent of the dust that got on him, in musk, on the Day of Resurrection." (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يُوسُفَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الرَّقِّيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْحَرَّانِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ جَاهِمَةَ السُّلَمِيِّ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي کُنْتُ أَرَدْتُ الْجِهَادَ مَعَکَ أَبْتَغِي بِذَلِکَ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ قَالَ وَيْحَکَ أَحَيَّةٌ أُمُّکَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ ارْجِعْ فَبَرَّهَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ مِنْ الْجَانِبِ الْآخَرِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي کُنْتُ أَرَدْتُ الْجِهَادَ مَعَکَ أَبْتَغِي بِذَلِکَ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ قَالَ وَيْحَکَ أَحَيَّةٌ أُمُّکَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَارْجِعْ إِلَيْهَا فَبَرَّهَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ مِنْ أَمَامِهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي کُنْتُ أَرَدْتُ الْجِهَادَ مَعَکَ أَبْتَغِي بِذَلِکَ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ قَالَ وَيْحَکَ أَحَيَّةٌ أُمُّکَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَيْحَکَ الْزَمْ رِجْلَهَا فَثَمَّ الْجَنَّةُ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَمَّالُ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَکْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ جَاهِمَةَ السُّلَمِيِّ أَنَّ جَاهِمَةَ أَتَی النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَکَرَ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن مَاجَةَ هَذَا جَاهِمَةُ بْنُ عَبَّاسِ بْنِ مِرْدَاسٍ السُّلَمِيُّ الَّذِي عَاتَبَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ

It was narrated that Muawiyah bin Jahimah As-Sulami said: "I came to the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H and said: '0 Messenger of Allah, I want to go for Jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter: He said: 'Woe to you! Is your mother still alive?' r said: 'Yes: He said: 'Go back and honor her: Then I approached him from the other side and said: '0 Messenger of Allah, I want to go for Jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter: He said: 'Woe to you! Is your mother still alive?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Go back and honor her: Then I approached him from in front and said: '0 Messenger of Allah, I want to go for Jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter: He said: 'Woe to you! Is your mother still alive?' I said: 'Yes: He said: 'Go back and serve her, for there is Paradise.''' (Sahih) Another chain with similar wording. (Sahih) Abu 'Abdullah Ibn Majah said: "This person Jahimah bin 'Abbas bin Mirdas As-Sulami is the one who rebuked the Prophet on the Day of Hunain.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ أَتَی رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي جِئْتُ أُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ مَعَکَ أَبْتَغِي وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ وَلَقَدْ أَتَيْتُ وَإِنَّ وَالِدَيَّ لَيَبْکِيَانِ قَالَ فَارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِکْهُمَا کَمَا أَبْکَيْتَهُمَا

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: "A man came to the Messenger of Allah and said: '0 Messenger of Allah, I have come seeking to go out in Jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter. I have come even though my parents are weeping.' He said: 'Go back to them and make: them smile as you have made them weep.''' (Hasan)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الرَّجُلِ يُقَاتِلُ شَجَاعَةً وَيُقَاتِلُ حَمِيَّةً وَيُقَاتِلُ رِيَائً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ قَاتَلَ لِتَکُونَ کَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

It was narrated that Abu Musa said: "The Prophet l was asked about a man who fights to prove his courage, or out of pride and honor for his close relatives, or to show off. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fights so that the Word of Allah may be supreme is the one who (is fighting) in the cause of Allah.''' (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَقَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُقْبَةَ وَکَانَ مَوْلًی لِأَهْلِ فَارِسَ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَضَرَبْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْمُشْرِکِينَ فَقُلْتُ خُذْهَا مِنِّي وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْفَارِسِيُّ فَبَلَغَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَلَا قُلْتَ خُذْهَا وَأَنَا الْغُلَامُ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ

It was narrated that Abu 'Uqbah, who was the freed slave of Some Persian people, said: "I was present with the Prophet on the Day of Uhud. I struck a rnan from among the idolators and said: 'Take that! And I am a Persian slave!' News of that reached the Prophet P.B.U.H and he said: 'Why did you not say: "Take that! And I am an Ansari slave!?" (Da'if)

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيَّ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ غَازِيَةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيُصِيبُوا غَنِيمَةً إِلَّا تَعَجَّلُوا ثُلُثَيْ أَجْرِهِمْ فَإِنْ لَمْ يُصِيبُوا غَنِيمَةً تَمَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ

‘Abdullâh bin ‘Aim said: “I heard the Prophet say: ‘There is no band of warriors that fights in the cause of Allah and acquires war spoils, but they have been given two thirds of their reward, but if they do not get any spoils of war, then they will have their reward in full (in the Hereafter).’” (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ شَبِيبِ بْنِ غَرْقَدَةَ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ الْبَارِقِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْخَيْرُ مَعْقُودٌ بِنَوَاصِي الْخَيْلِ إِلَی يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

It was narrated from 'Urwah Al-Bariqi that the Messenger of Allah said: "Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection." (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ الْخَيْلُ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ إِلَی يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah said: “There is goodness in the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection.” (Sahih)

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْخَيْلُ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ أَوْ قَالَ الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ قَالَ سُهَيْلٌ أَنَا أَشُکُّ الْخَيْرُ إِلَی يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ الْخَيْلُ ثَلَاثَةٌ فَهِيَ لِرَجُلٍ أَجْرٌ وَلِرَجُلٍ سِتْرٌ وَعَلَی رَجُلٍ وِزْرٌ فَأَمَّا الَّذِي هِيَ لَهُ أَجْرٌ فَالرَّجُلُ يَتَّخِذُهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيُعِدُّهَا فَلَا تُغَيِّبُ شَيْئًا فِي بُطُونِهَا إِلَّا کُتِبَ لَهُ أَجْرٌ وَلَوْ رَعَاهَا فِي مَرْجٍ مَا أَکَلَتْ شَيْئًا إِلَّا کُتِبَ لَهُ بِهَا أَجْرٌ وَلَوْ سَقَاهَا مِنْ نَهَرٍ جَارٍ کَانَ لَهُ بِکُلِّ قَطْرَةٍ تُغَيِّبُهَا فِي بُطُونِهَا أَجْرٌ حَتَّی ذَکَرَ الْأَجْرَ فِي أَبْوَالِهَا وَأَرْوَاثِهَا وَلَوْ اسْتَنَّتْ شَرَفًا أَوْ شَرَفَيْنِ کُتِبَ لَهُ بِکُلِّ خُطْوَةٍ تَخْطُوهَا أَجْرٌ وَأَمَّا الَّذِي هِيَ لَهُ سِتْرٌ فَالرَّجُلُ يَتَّخِذُهَا تَکَرُّمًا وَتَجَمُّلًا وَلَا يَنْسَی حَقَّ ظُهُورِهَا وَبُطُونِهَا فِي عُسْرِهَا وَيُسْرِهَا وَأَمَّا الَّذِي هِيَ عَلَيْهِ وِزْرٌ فَالَّذِي يَتَّخِذُهَا أَشَرًا وَبَطَرًا وَبَذَخًا وَرِيَائً لِلنَّاسِ فَذَلِکَ الَّذِي هِيَ عَلَيْهِ وِزْرٌ

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "There is goodness in the forelocks of horses" – or he said: "There is goodness tied in the forelocks of horses." Suhail (one of the narrators) said: "I am not certain of' – "until the Day of Resurrection. And horses are of three types: those that bring reward to a man, those that are a means of protection for a man, and those that are a burden (of sin) for a man. As for those that bring reward, a man keeps them in the cause of Allah and keeps them constantly ready (for lihiitf), so they do not take any fodder into their stomachs but a reward will be written for him, and if he puts them out to pasture, they do not eat anything but reward will be written for him. If he gives them to drink from a flowing river, for every drop that enters their stomachs there will be reward," (continuing) until he mentioned reward in conjunction with their ruine and droppings, and even when they run here and there by themselves, for each step they take reward will be written for him – 'As for those that are a means of protection, a man keeps them because they are a source of dignity and adornment, but he does not forget the rights of their backs and stomachs (i.e., their right not to be overworked and their right to be fed) whether at times of their difficulty or ease. As for those that bring a burden (of sin), the one who keeps them for purposes of wrongdoing or for pomp and show before people, is the one for whom they bring a burden of sin." (Sahih)
