حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کُرَيْبٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ أَتَی رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي جِئْتُ أُرِيدُ الْجِهَادَ مَعَکَ أَبْتَغِي وَجْهَ اللَّهِ وَالدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ وَلَقَدْ أَتَيْتُ وَإِنَّ وَالِدَيَّ لَيَبْکِيَانِ قَالَ فَارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمَا فَأَضْحِکْهُمَا کَمَا أَبْکَيْتَهُمَا
ابن ماجہ · Hadith 2782
It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: "A man came to the Messenger of Allah and said: '0 Messenger of Allah, I have come seeking to go out in Jihad with you, seeking thereby the Face of Allah and the Hereafter. I have come even though my parents are weeping.' He said: 'Go back to them and make: them smile as you have made them weep.''' (Hasan)
