أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نَضْرَةَ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ کُنَّا نَسِيرُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا عَلَی نَاضِحٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَبِيعُنِيهِ بِکَذَا وَکَذَا وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَکَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ هُوَ لَکَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَتَبِيعُنِيهِ بِکَذَا وَکَذَا وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَکَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ هُوَ لَکَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَتَبِيعُنِيهِ بِکَذَا وَکَذَا وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَکَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ هُوَ لَکَ قَالَ أَبُو نَضْرَةَ وَکَانَتْ کَلِمَةً يَقُولُهَا الْمُسْلِمُونَ افْعَلْ کَذَا وَکَذَا وَاللَّهُ يَغْفِرُ لَکَ

It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said: “We were traveling with the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and I was riding a camel. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said to me: ‘Will you sell it to me for such and such, may Allah forgive you?’ I said, ‘Yes, it is yours, Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم.’ He said: ‘Will you sell it to me for such and such, may Allah forgive you?’ I said: ‘Yes, it is yours, Prophet of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم.’ He said: ‘Will you sell it to me for such and such, may Allah forgive you?’ I said: ‘Yes, it is yours.” (One of the narrators) Abu Nadrah said: “This became a phrase that was used by the Muslims: ‘Do such and such, may Allah forgive you.” (Sahih)

جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ← أَبُو نَضْرَةَ، ← أَبِي ← الْمُعْتَمِرُ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ اشْتَرَيْتُ بَرِيرَةَ فَاشْتَرَطَ أَهْلُهَا وَلَائَهَا فَذَکَرْتُ ذَلِکَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَعْتِقِيهَا فَإِنَّ الْوَلَائَ لِمَنْ أَعْطَی الْوَرِقَ قَالَتْ فَأَعْتَقْتُهَا قَالَتْ فَدَعَاهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَيَّرَهَا مِنْ زَوْجِهَا فَاخْتَارَتْ نَفْسَهَا وَکَانَ زَوْجُهَا حُرًّا

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “I bought BarIrah and her masters stipulated that her loyalty (Wala’) should be to them. I mentioned that to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, and he said: ‘Set her free, and loyalty belongs to the one who pays the silver.” She said: “So I set her free. The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم called her and gave her the choice regarding her husband, and she chose herself. Her husband was a free man.” (Sahih)

عَائِشَةَ ← الْأَسْوَدِ، ← إِبْرَاهِيمُ: ← مَنْصُورٌ، ← جَرِيرٌ ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْقَاسِمَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّهَا أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَشْتَرِيَ بَرِيرَةَ لِلْعِتْقِ وَأَنَّهُمْ اشْتَرَطُوا وَلَائَهَا فَذَکَرَتْ ذَلِکَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اشْتَرِيهَا فَأَعْتِقِيهَا فَإِنَّ الْوَلَائَ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ وَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَحْمٍ فَقِيلَ هَذَا تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَی بَرِيرَةَ فَقَالَ هُوَ لَهَا صَدَقَةٌ وَلَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ وَخُيِّرَتْ

– It was narrated from ‘Aishah that she wanted to buy BarIrah to set her free, but they stipulated that her loyalty (Wala’) should be to them. She mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: “Buy her, and set her free, and loyalty (Wala’) belongs to the one who sets the slave free.” Some meat was brought to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and it was said that this had been given in charity to BarIrah. He said: “It is charity for her, and a gift for us.” And she was given the choice. (Sahih)

عَائِشَةَ ← الْقَاسِمِ، ← عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، ← شُعْبَةُ ← مُحَمَّدٍ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ،

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ مَالِکٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَشْتَرِيَ جَارِيَةً تَعْتِقُهَا فَقَالَ أَهْلُهَا نَبِيعُکِهَا عَلَی أَنَّ الْوَلَائَ لَنَا فَذَکَرَتْ ذَلِکِ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَا يَمْنَعُکِ ذَلِکِ فَإِنَّ الْوَلَائَ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that ‘Aishah wanted to but a slave woman to set her free, but her people said: “We will sell her to you on condition that her loyalty (Wala’) be to us.” She mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and he said: “That should not stop you. Loyalty belongs to the one who sets the slave free.” (Sahih)

عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ← نَافِعٍ ← مَالِكٍ، ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ نَهَی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَغَانِمِ حَتَّی تُقْسَمَ وَعَنْ الْحَبَالَی أَنْ يُوطَأْنَ حَتَّی يَضَعْنَ مَا فِي بُطُونِهِنَّ وَعَنْ لَحْمِ کُلِّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنْ السِّبَاعِ

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade selling something from the spoils of war prior to its distribution, having intercourse with a pregnant woman until she gives birth, and (eating) the flesh of any predator that has fangs.” (Sahih)

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ← مُّجَاھِدٍ ← عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، ← عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، ← يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ← إِبْرَاهِيمُ: ← أَبِي ← أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ،

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الشُّفْعَةُ فِي کُلِّ شِرْکٍ رَبْعَةٍ أَوْ حَائِطٍ لَا يَصْلُحُ لَهُ أَنْ يَبِيعَ حَتَّی يُؤْذِنَ شَرِيکَهُ فَإِنْ بَاعَ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ حَتَّی يُؤْذِنَهُ

It was narrated that Jabir said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Pre-emption is to be given in everything that is shared, whether it is a house or a garden. It is not right to sell it before informing one’s partner, and if he sells it he (the partner) has more right to it, unless he gives permission to sell it to someone else.” (Sahih)

جَابِرٍ ← أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← إِسْمَعِيلُ ← عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ،

أَخْبَرَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَکَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی وَهُوَ ابْنُ حَمْزَةَ عَنْ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ أَنَّ الزُّهْرِيَّ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ أَنَّ عَمَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ وَهُوَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْتَاعَ فَرَسًا مِنْ أَعْرَابِيٍّ وَاسْتَتْبَعَهُ لِيَقْبِضَ ثَمَنَ فَرَسِهِ فَأَسْرَعَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبْطَأَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ وَطَفِقَ الرِّجَالُ يَتَعَرَّضُونَ لِلْأَعْرَابِيِّ فَيَسُومُونَهُ بِالْفَرَسِ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ابْتَاعَهُ حَتَّی زَادَ بَعْضُهُمْ فِي السَّوْمِ عَلَی مَا ابْتَاعَهُ بِهِ مِنْهُ فَنَادَی الْأَعْرَابِيُّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ إِنْ کُنْتَ مُبْتَاعًا هَذَا الْفَرَسَ وَإِلَّا بِعْتُهُ فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ سَمِعَ نِدَائَهُ فَقَالَ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ ابْتَعْتُهُ مِنْکَ قَالَ لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا بِعْتُکَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ ابْتَعْتُهُ مِنْکَ فَطَفِقَ النَّاسُ يَلُوذُونَ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَبِالْأَعْرَابِيِّ وَهُمَا يَتَرَاجَعَانِ وَطَفِقَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ يَقُولُ هَلُمَّ شَاهِدًا يَشْهَدُ أَنِّي قَدْ بِعْتُکَهُ قَالَ خُزَيْمَةُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنَّکَ قَدْ بِعْتَهُ قَالَ فَأَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی خُزَيْمَةَ فَقَالَ لِمَ تَشْهَدُ قَالَ بِتَصْدِيقِکَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَهَادَةَ خُزَيْمَةَ شَهَادَةَ رَجُلَيْنِ

It was narrated from ‘Umárah bin Khuzaimah that his paternal uncle, who was one of the Companions of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم told him, that the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم bought a horse from a Bedouin and asked him to follow him, so that he could ….y him for the horse. The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم hastened but the Bedouin was ‘ow. Men started to talk to the edouin and make offers for the orse, and they did not realize that ie Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم , had bought it, until )me of them offered more than Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم had bought it for. e Bedouin called out to the t , and said: “Are you .o buy this horse or shall I The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم stood up when he heard him calling and said: “Have I not bought it from you?” He said: “No, by Allah, I have not sold it to you,” and the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said “I bought it from you.” The people started to gather around the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and the Bedouin as they were talking, and the Bedouin started to say: “Bring a witness who will testify that you bought it.” Khuzaimah bin Thabit said: “I bear witness that you bought it.” The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم turned to Khuzaimah and said: “Why are you bearing witness?” He said: “Because I know that you are truthful, Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم.” So the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم made the testimony of Khuzaimah equivalent to the testimony of two men. (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ غِيَاثٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْسٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْأَشْعَثِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ إِذَا اخْتَلَفَ الْبَيِّعَانِ وَلَيْسَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَيِّنَةٌ فَهُوَ مَا يَقُولُ رَبُّ السِّلْعَةِ أَوْ يَتْرُکَا

. ‘Abdullah said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم i say: ‘If the two parties to a transaction disagree, and neither of them has any proof, then it is as the owner of the goods says, or they may cancel it.” (Hasan)

أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ وَيُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْمَعِيلُ بْنُ أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِکِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَضَرْنَا أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَتَاهُ رَجُلَانِ تَبَايَعَا سِلْعَةً فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا أَخَذْتُهَا بِکَذَا وَبِکَذَا وَقَالَ هَذَا بِعْتُهَا بِکَذَا وَکَذَا فَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ أُتِيَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ فِي مِثْلِ هَذَا فَقَالَ حَضَرْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُتِيَ بِمِثْلِ هَذَا فَأَمَرَ الْبَائِعَ أَنْ يَسْتَحْلِفَ ثُمَّ يَخْتَارَ الْمُبْتَاعُ فَإِنْ شَائَ أَخَذَ وَإِنْ شَائَ تَرَکَ

It was narrated that ‘Abdul Malik bin ‘Ubaid said: “We were with Abu Ubaidah bin ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud when two men who were involved in a transaction came to him. One of them said: ‘I bought it for such and such,’ and the other said: ‘I sold it to him for such and such.’ Abu ‘Ubaidah said: something like this was brought to – ‘, and he said: I was with Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم when nething like this was brought to Ibn Masud. He told the seller to swear an oath‘. then he gave the purchaser the choice: If he wished, he could buy it, and if he wished he could cancel (the transaction).” (Hasan)

عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ ← إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← حَجَّاجٌ: ← عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِإِبْرَاهِيمَ ← يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ← إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ اشْتَرَی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ يَهُودِيٍّ طَعَامًا بِنَسِيئَةٍ وَأَعْطَاهُ دِرْعًا لَهُ رَهْنًا

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم bought some food from a Jew on credit, and he gave him a shield of his as a pledge.” (Sahih)

عَائِشَةَ ← الْأَسْوَدِ، ← إِبْرَاهِيمُ: ← الْاَعْمَشِ ← أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ← أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ

أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ هِشَامٍ عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَدِرْعُهُ مَرْهُونَةٌ عِنْدَ يَهُودِيٍّ بِثَلَاثِينَ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ لِأَهْلِهِ

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم died when his shield was in pledge with a Jew for thirty Sa’s of barley for his family.” (Hasan)

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ أَعْتَقَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي عُذْرَةَ عَبْدًا لَهُ عَنْ دُبُرٍ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِکَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ أَلَکَ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُ قَالَ لَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ يَشْتَرِيهِ مِنِّي فَاشْتَرَاهُ نُعَيْمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَدَوِيُّ بِثَمَانِ مِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ فَجَائَ بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَفَعَهَا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ ابْدَأْ بِنَفْسِکَ فَتَصَدَّقْ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنْ فَضَلَ شَيْئٌ فَلِأَهْلِکَ فَإِنْ فَضَلَ مِنْ أَهْلِکَ شَيْئٌ فَلِذِي قَرَابَتِکَ فَإِنْ فَضَلَ مِنْ ذِي قَرَابَتِکَ شَيْئٌ فَهَکَذَا وَهَکَذَا وَهَکَذَا يَقُولُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْکَ وَعَنْ يَمِينِکَ وَعَنْ شِمَالِکَ

It w’as narrated that Jabir said: “A man from Banu ‘Adhrah stated that a slave of his was to be set free after he died. News of that reached the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and he said: ‘Do you have any other property besides him?’ He said: ‘No.’ The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Who will buy him from me?’ Nu’aim bin ‘Abdullah Al AdawI bought him for eight hundred Dirhams, which the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم brought and gave to him (the former owner). Then the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم said: ‘Start with yourself and give charity to (yourself). If there is anything left over, then give it to your family; if there is anything left over from your family, then give it to your relatives; if there is anything left over from your relatives, then give it to such and such,’ saying ‘In front of you, to your right and to your left.” (Sahih)
