و حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِکِ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ اللَّيْثِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُبْسَطَ لَهُ فِي رِزْقِهِ وَيُنْسَأَ لَهُ فِي أَثَرِهِ فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: He who likes that his sustenance should be expanded and his age may be lengthened should join the tie of kinship.

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ الْمُثَنَّی قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَائَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي قَرَابَةً أَصِلُهُمْ وَيَقْطَعُونِي وَأُحْسِنُ إِلَيْهِمْ وَيُسِيئُونَ إِلَيَّ وَأَحْلُمُ عَنْهُمْ وَيَجْهَلُونَ عَلَيَّ فَقَالَ لَئِنْ کُنْتَ کَمَا قُلْتَ فَکَأَنَّمَا تُسِفُّهُمْ الْمَلَّ وَلَا يَزَالُ مَعَکَ مِنْ اللَّهِ ظَهِيرٌ عَلَيْهِمْ مَا دُمْتَ عَلَی ذَلِکَ

Abu Huraira reported that a person said: Allah's Messenger, I have relatives with whom I try, to have close relationship, but they sever (this relation). I treat them well, but they treat me ill. I am sweet to them but they are harsh towards me. Upon this he (the Holy Prophet) said: If it is so as you say, then you in fact throw hot ashes (upon their faces) and there would always remain with you on behalf of Allah (an Angel to support you) who would keep you dominant over them so long as you adhere to this (path of righteousness).

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابِ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا وَکُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا وَلَا يَحِلُّ لِمُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ

Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Neither nurse mutual hatred, nor jealousy, nor enmity, and become as fellow brothers and servants of Allah. It is not lawful for a Muslim that he should keep his relations estranged with his brother beyond three days.

حَدَّثَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ح و حَدَّثَنِيهِ حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ مَالِکٍ

Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying like this. This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters.

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ جَمِيعًا عَنْ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَزَادَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ وَلَا تَقَاطَعُوا

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters with the addition of Ibn Uyaina (and the words are): Do not cut off (mutual relations).

الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَزَادَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ وَلَا تَقَاطَعُوا ← ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ← زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ جَمِيعًا

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کَامِلٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ ح و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ کِلَاهُمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ جَمِيعًا عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ أَمَّا رِوَايَةُ يَزِيدَ عَنْهُ فَکَرِوَايَةِ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ يَذْکُرُ الْخِصَالَ الْأَرْبَعَةَ جَمِيعًا وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلَا تَقَاطَعُوا

This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters and the hadith transmitted on the authority of Abd al-Razziq (the words are): Neither nurse grudge nor sever (the ties of kinship), nor nurse enmity.

الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ أَمَّا رِوَايَةُ يَزِيدَ عَنْهُ فَکَرِوَايَةِ سُفْيَانَ ← مَعْمَرٌ، ← عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ جَمِيعًا ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ کِلَاهُمَا ← و، ← يَزِيدُ -يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ- ← أَبُو کَامِلٍ

و حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَحَاسَدُوا وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا وَلَا تَقَاطَعُوا وَکُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا

Anas reported Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Nurse no grudge, nurse no aversion and do not sever ties of kinship and live like fellow-brothers as servants of Allah.

حَدَّثَنِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ وَزَادَ کَمَا أَمَرَکُمْ اللَّهُ

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters but with this addition: As Allah has commanded you.

شُعْبَةُ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ وَزَادَ کَمَا أَمَرَکُمْ اللَّهُ ← وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَی مَالِکٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَطَائِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِمُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثِ لَيَالٍ يَلْتَقِيَانِ فَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا وَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا وَخَيْرُهُمَا الَّذِي يَبْدَأُ بِالسَّلَامِ

Abu Ayyub Ansiri reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: It is not permissible for a Muslim to have estranged relations with his brother beyond three nights, the one turning one way and the other turning the other way when they meet; the better of the two is one who is the first to give a greeting.

اَبِیْ اَیُّوْبَ الْاَنْصَارِیِّ ← عَطَائِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ← ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ← على مالك، ← يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ وَأَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ح و حَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ح و حَدَّثَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ح و حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ کُلُّهُمْ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِ مَالِکٍ وَمِثْلِ حَدِيثِهِ إِلَّا قَوْلَهُ فَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا وَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا فَإِنَّهُمْ جَمِيعًا قَالُوا فِي حَدِيثِهِمْ غَيْرَ مَالِکٍ فَيَصُدُّ هَذَا وَيَصُدُّ هَذَا

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Zuhri with a slight variation of wording (and the words are): The one turning away and the other turning away when they meet and one avoids the other and the other also avoids him.

مَعْمَرٌ کُلُّهُمْ ← عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ← عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، ← إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ← و، ← الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ← حَاجِبُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ← و، ← يُونُسَ ← ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ← حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ← و، ← سُفْيَانَ، ← زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ← أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْکٍ أَخْبَرَنَا الضَّحَّاکُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ الْعَلَائِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا هِجْرَةَ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: There should be no estranged relations beyond three days.
