أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: سُئِلَ ابْنٌ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ مَسْأَلَةٍ، فَلَمْ يَقُلْ فِيهَا شَيْئًا، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّا لَنُعْظِمُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ابْنَ إِمَامَيْ هُدًى، تَسْأَلُ عَنْ أَمْرٍ لَيْسَ عِنْدَكَ فِيهِ عِلْمٌ. فَقَالَ: أَعْظَمُ وَاللَّهِ مِنْ ذَلِكَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَعِنْدَ مَنْ عَرَفَ اللَّهَ وَعِنْدَ مَنْ عَقَلَ عَنِ اللَّهِ أَنْ أَقُولَ بِمَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ أَوْ أُخْبِرَ عَنْ غَيْرِ ثِقَةٍ.

Tell us Sufian, Yahya bin Said, he said, asked the son of Abdullah ibn Umar on the issue, in which he did not say anything, was said to him: I glorify the Son Emami Huda be, you ask for something you do not have a flag. قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ: وَقَدْ رَوَيْتُ أَحَادِيثَ مُرْسَلَةً عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْعُقُوبَاتِ وَتَوْقِيتِهَا تَرَكْنَاهَا لانْقِطَاعِهَا. أَخْرَجَ الْحَدِيثَيْنِ مِنْ كِتَابِ الصَّيْدِ وَالذَّبَائِحِ، وَهُمَا آخِرُ مَا فِيهِ، وَالثَّالِثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْجَنَائِزِ، وَهُوَ آخِرُ مَا فِيهِ.

Muhammad ibn Idris said: I have narrated hadiths sent from the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, that he died and died. Take the two hadiths out of the book of hunting and sacrifices, the last of which is in it, and the third of the Book of Funerals, which is another.

قَالَ الرَّبِيعُ: سَمِعْتُ الشَّافِعِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: سُئِلَ أَبُو حَنِيفَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ الصَّائِمِ يَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ وَيَطَأُ إِلَى اطِّلاعِ الْفَجْرِ، وَكَانَ عِنْدَهُ رَجُلٌ نَبِيلٌ، فَقَالَ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ نِصْفَ اللَّيْلِ؟ فَقَالَ: الْزَمِ الصَّمْتَ يَا أَعْرَجُ.

Spring said: I heard Shafei may Allah be pleased with him says, asked Abu Hanifa may Allah be pleased with him fasting person eats and drinks and foot to see the dawn, and had a gentleman, he said: What do you think that the dawn of the night? He said: Silence, you lame.

سَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ الشَّافِعِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلاةِ النَّافِلَةِ.

I heard al-Rabi` ibn Suleiman say: I heard al-Shafi’i, may God be pleased with him, saying: Seeking knowledge is better than a naafil prayer.

سَمِعْتُ الشَّافِعِيَّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: لَوْلا مَالِكٌ وَسُفْيَانُ لَذَهَبَ عِلْمُ الْحِجَازِ.

I heard al-Shafi’i, may God be pleased with him, saying: Without an angel and Sufyan, the science of Hijaz would have gone.

قَالَ الأَصَمُّ: سَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ يَقُولُ: كَانَ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِذَا قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي مَنْ لا أَتَّهِمُ يُرِيدُ بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ أَبِي يَحْيَى، وَإِذَا قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي الثِّقَةُ يُرِيدُ بِهِ يَحْيَى بْنَ حَسَّانٍ. أَخْرَجَ الأَوَّلَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْيَمِينِ مَعَ الشَّاهِدِ، وَالثَّانِيَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الصَّدَاقِ وَالإِيلاءِ، وَالثَّالِثَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الصَّيْدِ وَالذَّبَائِحِ، وَالرَّابِعَ مِنْ كِتَابِ الْعِيدَيْنِ.

Asam said: I heard the spring Bin Sulaiman said it was Shafei may Allah be pleased with him if he said: Tell me who does not want to accuse him Ibrahim ibn Abi Yahya, and if he said: Tell me the confidence he wants him Yahya bin Hassan. He took the first from the book of oath with the witness, and the second from the book of dowry and devotion, and the third from the book of the hunting and the sacrifices, of the sacrifices.

قَالَ الأَصَمُّ: سَمِعْتُ الرَّبِيعَ يَقُولُ: مَاتَ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَنَةَ أَرْبَعٍ وَمِائَتَيْنِ فِي آخِرِ يَوْمٍ مِنْ رَجَبٍ، وَسُئِلَ عَنْ سِنِّهِ، فَقَالَ: نَيِّفٌ وَخَمْسُونَ سَنَةً. أَخْرَجَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ الصَّيْدِ.
