حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْحَارِثِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْبَيْلَمَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا لَقِيتَ الْحَاجَّ فَسَلِّمْ عَلَيْهِ وَصَافِحْهُ وَمُرْهُ أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرَ لَكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بَيْتَهُ فَإِنَّهُ مَغْفُورٌ لَهُ

It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "When you meet the (returning) pilgrim, shake his hand and tell him to ask for forgiveness for you before he enters his house, for he has been forgiven."

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ قَطَنِ بْنِ وَهْبِ بْنِ عُوَيْمِرِ بْنِ الْأَجْدَعِ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةٌ قَدْ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ الْجَنَّةَ مُدْمِنُ الْخَمْرِ وَالْعَاقُّ وَالدَّيُّوثُ الَّذِي يُقِرُّ فِي أَهْلِهِ الْخَبَثَ

It was narrated from Saalim ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar: Abdullah ibn Umar told me that Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "There are three to whom Allah has forbidden paradise: the one who persists in drinking alcohol, the one who is disobedient to his parents, and the cuckold who approves of immoral actions on the part erf his wife."

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ يَزِيدَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْهَادِ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ لَقِيَ نَاسًا خَرَجُوا مِنْ عِنْدِ مَرْوَانَ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ جَاءَ هَؤُلَاءِ قَالُوا خَرَجْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِ الْأَمِيرِ مَرْوَانَ قَالَ وَكُلُّ حَقٍّ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ تَكَلَّمْتُمْ بِهِ وَأَعَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ وَكُلُّ مُنْكَرٍ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ أَنْكَرْتُمُوهُ وَرَدَدْتُمُوهُ عَلَيْهِ قَالُوا لَا وَاللَّهِ بَلْ يَقُولُ مَا يُنْكَرُ فَنَقُولُ قَدْ أَصَبْتَ أَصْلَحَكَ اللَّهُ فَإِذَا خَرَجْنَا مِنْ عِنْدِهِ قُلْنَا قَاتَلَهُ اللَّهُ مَا أَظْلَمَهُ وَأَفْجَرَهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ كُنَّا بِعَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَعُدُّ هَذَا نِفَاقًا لِمَنْ كَانَ هَكَذَا

It was narrated from 'Umar ibn 'Abdullah that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar met some people who had come out from (an audience with) Marwaan. He said: Where did these people come from? They said: We have come out from (an audience with) the ruler Marwaan. He said: And did you approve of and support every word of truth you have heard and did you denounce and reject every evil thing you have seen? They said: No, by Allah. Rather he said things that we think are wrong but we said you are right, may Allah guide you. Then when we came out from (our audience with) him, we said: May Allah destroys him, how unjust and evil he is! 'Abdullah said: At the time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) we would have regarded this as hypocrisy on the part of one who behaved like that.

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ جَارِيَةً مِنْ سَبْيِ هَوَازِنَ فَوَهَبَهَا لِي فَبَعَثْتُ بِهَا إِلَى أَخْوَالِي مِنْ بَنِي جُمَحٍ لِيُصْلِحُوا لِي مِنْهَا حَتَّى أَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ أَاتِيَهُمْ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُصِيبَهَا إِذَا رَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ فَخَرَجْتُ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ حِينَ فَرَغْتُ فَإِذَا النَّاسُ يَشْتَدُّونَ فَقُلْتُ مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالُوا رَدَّ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَنَا قَالَ قُلْتُ تِلْكَ صَاحِبَتُكُمْ فِي بَنِي جُمَحٍ فَاذْهَبُوا فَخُذُوهَا فَذَهَبُوا فَأَخَذُوهَا

It was narrated that 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar said: The Messenger erf Allah (PBUH) gave 'Umar ibn al-Khattaab a young woman from among the captives of Hawaazin, and he gave her to me. I sent her to my maternal uncles of Banu Jumah, to prepare her for me until I went and circumambulated the Ka'bah then came to them, because I wanted to be intimate with her when I came back to her. I came out of the mosque when I had finished, and I saw the people in a state of excitement. I said: What is the matter with you? They said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) has returned our sons and daughters to us. I said: This daughter of yours is with Banu Jumah; go and take her. So they went and took her.

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ قَالَ جَلَسْتُ أَنَا وَمُحَمَّدٌ الْكِنْدِيُّ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ثُمَّ قُمْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ فَجَلَسْتُ إِلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ قَالَ فَجَاءَ صَاحِبِي وَقَدْ اصْفَرَّ وَجْهُهُ وَتَغَيَّرَ لَوْنُهُ فَقَالَ قُمْ إِلَيَّ قُلْتُ أَلَمْ أَكُنْ جَالِسًا مَعَكَ السَّاعَةَ فَقَالَ سَعِيدٌ قُمْ إِلَى صَاحِبِكَ قَالَ فَقُمْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ إِلَى مَا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ قُلْتُ وَمَا قَالَ قَالَ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَعَلَيَّ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ أَحْلِفَ بِالْكَعْبَةِ قَالَ وَلِمَ تَحْلِفُ بِالْكَعْبَةِ إِذَا حَلَفْتَ بِالْكَعْبَةِ فَاحْلِفْ بِرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ فَإِنَّ عُمَرَ كَانَ إِذَا حَلَفَ قَالَ كَلَّا وَأَبِي فَحَلَفَ بِهَا يَوْمًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا تَحْلِفْ بِأَبِيكَ وَلَا بِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ حَلَفَ بِغَيْرِ اللَّهِ فَقَدْ أَشْرَكَ

It was narrated that Sa'd ibn 'Ubaadah said: Muhammad al-Kindi and i sat with 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, then i got up and left him and I sat with Sa'eed ibn al-Musayyab. Then my friend came, and he had turned yellow and his colour had changed. He said: Get up and come with me. I said: Wasn't I sitting with you just now? Sa'eed said: Get up and go with your companion. So I got up and went with him and he said: Have you not heard what Ibn Umar said? I said: What did he say? He said: A man came to him and said: O Abu 'Abd ar-Rahmaan, is there any sin on me I swear by the Ka'bah? He said: would you want to swear by the Ka'bah? If you want to swear by the Ka'bah, then swear by the lord of the Ka'bah. When 'Umar swore an oath he would say: No, by my father. He swore this oath one day in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)`, and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Do not swear by your father or by anything other than Allah, for whoever swears by somethin g other than Allah has committed an act of shirk "

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى وَحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَتَخْرُجُ نَارٌ مِنْ حَضْرَمَوْتَ أَوْ مِنْ بَحْرِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ تَحْشُرُ النَّاسَ قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُنَا قَالَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّأَمِ

It was narrated that Ibn Umar said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "A fire will emerge from Hadramawt, or from the sea of Hadramawt, before the Day of Resurrection and it will gather the people." We said: O Messenger of Allah, what do you instruct us to do? He said: "Go to Syria."

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى بَنِي زُهْرَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى الَّذِي يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ خُيَلَاءَ

It was narrated from Muhammad ibn ' Abd ar-Rahmaan ibn Thawbaan, the freed slave of Banu Zahrah, that he heard Ibn 'Umar say: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Allah will not look at the one who lets his garment drag out of pride."

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَ حُجْرَةِ عَائِشَةَ يَقُولُ يُنْصَبُ لِكُلِّ غَادِرٍ لِوَاءٌ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا غَدْرَةَ أَعْظَمُ مِنْ غَدْرَةِ إِمَامِ عَامَّةٍ

It was narrated from Bishr ibn Harb: i heard Ibn 'Umar say: i heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say, beside 'Aa'ishah's apartment: "A banner will be raised for the betrayer on the Day of Resurrection, and there is no betrayal greater than the betrayal of the rufer of the Muslims."

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ أَبِي يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ اخْتَصَمَا إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمُدَّعِيَ الْبَيِّنَةَ فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بَيِّنَةٌ فَاسْتَحْلَفَ الْمَطْلُوبَ فَحَلَفَ بِاللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْتَ قَدْ فَعَلْتَ وَلَكِنْ غُفِرَ لَكَ بِإِخْلَاصِكَ قَوْلَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that two men referred a dispute to the Prophet (PBUH) and the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) asked the claimant for proof. He did not have any proof, so he asked the defendant to swear an oath and he swore by Allah, besides whom there is no other god. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "You did it, but you will be forgiven for your sincerity in saying there is no god but Allah."

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي جِبْرِيلُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّكَ قَدْ فَعَلْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفَرَ لَكَ

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ بَيَانٍ عَنْ وَبَرَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَنَحْنُ نَرْجُو أَنْ يُحَدِّثَنَا حَدِيثًا أَوْ حَدِيثًا حَسَنًا فَبَدَرَنَا رَجُلٌ مِنَّا يُقَالُ لَهُ الْحَكَمُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا تَقُولُ فِي الْقِتَالِ فِي الْفِتْنَةِ قَالَ ثَكِلَتْكَ أُمُّكَ وَهَلْ تَدْرِي مَا الْفِتْنَةُ إِنَّ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُقَاتِلُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَكَانَ الدُّخُولُ فِيهِمْ أَوْ فِي دِينِهِمْ فِتْنَةً وَلَيْسَ كَقِتَالِكُمْ عَلَى الْمُلْكِ

It was narrated that Sa'eed ibn Jubayr said: 'Abdullah ibn Umar came out to us when we were hoping that he would tell us a hadeeth or give us a nice talk. Then a man whose name was al-Hakam hastened before any of us could utter a word and said: O Abu Abd ar-Rahmaan, what do you say about fighting when there is turmoil (between Muslims)? He said: May your mother be bereft of you! Do you know what turmoil is? Muhammad (PBUH) used to fight the mushrikeen, and joining them or their religion was turmoil, not like your fighting for power!

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْبَهِيِّ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِعَائِشَةَ نَاوِلِينِي الْخُمْرَةَ مِنْ الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي قَدْ أَحْدَثْتُ فَقَالَ أَوَحَيْضَتُكِ فِي يَدِكِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) said to 'Aa'ishah: "Give me the small mat from the mosque." She said: i am menstruating. He said: "Is your menses in your hand?"
