It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said: Whilst we were praying with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) a man among thepeople said: Allah is most great, much praise be to Allah, glory be to Allah morning and evening, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: “Who is tine one who said such and such?" A man among the people said: It was I, O Messenger of Allah. He said: "i was impressed by it, for the gates of heaven were opened for it." Ibn 'Umar said: I never stopped saving them (these words) since I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say that.

It was narrated that Naafi' said: When he entered any part of the Haram zone, Ibn 'Umar would stop reciting the Talbiyah, then when lie reached Dhu Tuwa, he would stay there overnight, until morning came. Then he would pray Fajr and do ghusl, and he narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to do that. Then he would enter Makkah in the mid-morning. He would go to the Ka'bah, touch the Black Stone, and say: In the name of Allah, Allah is most great. Then he would walk rapidly for three circuits, walking between the two comers, until he came to the Black Stone, which he would touch, and he would say Allah is most great, and do four circuits walking at a norma! pace, then he would go to the Maqaam and pray two rakahs, then he would go back to the Black Stone and touch it. Then he would go out to as-Safa through al-Bab al-A'zam, and stand on top of it (as-Safa) and say takbeer seven, and after three of them he would .say: There is no god but Allah alone with no partner or associate, His is the Dominion, to Hm be praise and He has power over all things.

He said: I heard 'Abd-Allah ibn 'Umar say, beside this rninbar of the Messenger of Allah The delegation of 'Abd al-Qays came with al-Ashajj and asked the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) about drinks. He said: "Do not drink from green glazed pitchers, gourds, or hollowed out stumps." I said to him: O Abu Muhammad, what about varnished jars? And I thought that he had forgotten them, but he said: I did not hear it that day from 'Abd-Allah ibn 'Umar, but he disliked it.

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, that GhayIaan ibn Salamah ath-Thaqafi became Muslim and he had ten wives. The Prophet (PBUH) said to him: "Choose four of them." At the time 'Umar, he divorced his wives and divided his wealth among his sons. News of that reached 'Umar and he said: I think the Shaytaan must have eavesdropped on news from heaven and heard of your (impending) death, so he put this (idea) in your mind. Probably you are not going to live for much longer. By Allah, you will take back your wives and take back your wealth, or I shall make them inherit from you and issue instructions that your grave be stoned as the grave of Abu Righaal [1] was stoned.

Then Abu Bakr sent it out after he (the Prophet (PBUH)) had died, and he followed it until he passed away. Then 'Umar sent it out after he (Abu Bakr) had died, and he followed it until he passed away. On the day Umar died, when he gave his last instructions, he men tioned that (document) and said: In it, it says: With regard to camels, for every five, one sheep is due (as zakaah), up to twenty-four. If the number reaches twenty-five, then one she- camel in its second year (should by given in zakaah), up to thirty-five.If there is no she-camel in its second year, then a he-camel in its third year (may be given). If there are more than thirty-five, then a she-camel in its third year is due, up to forty-five. If there is one more than that, then a she-camel in its fourth year is due, up to sixty. If there are more than that, then a she-camel in its fifth year is due, up to seventy-five. If there are more than that, then two she-camels in their second year are due, up to ninety. If there are more than that , then two she-camels in their fourth year are due, up to one hundred and twenty. If there are many camels, then for every fifty, a she-camel in its fourth year is due, and for every forty, a she-camel in its third year is due. With regard to sheep, for forty, one sheep is due, up to one hundred and twenty. If there are more than that, then two sheep are due, up to two hundred. If there are more than that, then three sheep are due, up to three hundred. If there are more than that, no more is due on them until they reach four hundred. If there are many sheep, then for each hundred one sheep is due. Moreover, flocks should not be divided and separate flocks should not be put together so as to avoid paying zakaah. In the case of a mixed flock belonging to two partners, each should pay an amount commensurate with his share of the flock. And no old or defective sheep should be taken as zakaah."

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (PBUH) said: "There is no person whom Allah, may He be blessed and exalted. putsin charge of others, whether they are few or many, but Allah will ask him about that on the day of Resurrection: Did he run their affairs in accordance with the command of Allah or not? And He will ask him about the members of his own household in particular.”

It was narrated from Hamzah ibn 'Abd-Allah ibn 'Umar, that his father said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "One of you will keep on asking of people until he meets Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, with not a bit of flesh on his face."
