حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ابْنَ ابْنِهِ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ وَاقِدٍ يَا بُنَيَّ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ خُيَلَاءَ

It was narrated that Zayd ibn Aslam heard Ibn 'Umar say to his grandson: O my son, I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say: “Allah, may He be exalted, will not look as the one who lets his garment drag out of pride.”

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسْجِدَ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ مَسْجِدَ قُبَاءَ يُصَلِّي فِيهِ فَدَخَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ رِجَالُ الْأَنْصَارِ يُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ صُهَيْبٌ فَسَأَلْتُ صُهَيْبًا كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ إِذَا سُلِّمَ عَلَيْهِ قَالَ يُشِيرُ بِيَدِهِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ قُلْتُ لِرَجُلٍ سَلْ زَيْدًا أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَهِبْتُ أَنَا أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا أُسَامَةَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ فَكَلَّمْتُهُ

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) entered the mosque of Banu 'Amr ibn 'Awf, the mosque of Quba', to pray there. Some men of the Ansaar came in to greet him and Suhayb was with him. I asked Suhayb: What would the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do when he was greeted? He said; He would gesture with his hand Sufyaan said: I said to a man: Ask Zayd: Did you hear it from 'Abdullah? And I was too nervous to ask him myself. He said; O Abu Usaamah, did you hear it from'Abdullah ibn 'Umar? He said: As for me, I met him and spoke to him.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَفَلَ مِنْ حَجٍّ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ أَوْ غَزْوٍ فَأَوْفَى عَلَى فَدْفَدٍ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الْأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ آيِبُونَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ

It was narrated from Saalim, from his father, that when the Prophet (PBUH) returned from Hajj or 'Umrah or a battle, when he reached the top of a hillock or high ground, He would say is no god but Allah alone with no partner or associate, He is the Dominion, to Him be praise and He has power over all this Allah has fulfilled His promise, supported His slave and defeated the confederates alone, returning, if Allah wills, repenting, and praising our Lord.”

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ قَالَ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ هَذِهِ الْبَيْدَاءُ الَّتِي يَكْذِبُونَ فِيهَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَحْرَمَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا مِنْ عِنْدِ الْمَسْجِدِ

It was narrated that Saalim said: lbn 'Umar used to say: This is the Bayda[1] concerning which they tell a lie about the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). By Allah, the Prophet (PBUH) only entered ihraam from near the mosque (i.e., the mosque of Dhu'l-Hulayfah).

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar: I heard the Prophet (PBUH) being asked about prayer at night. He said: "(The prayer at night) is two (rak'ahs) by two, then when you fear that dawn is about to break, make it odd numbered by praying one (rak'ah)."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَبِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَغْلِبَنَّكُمْ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ أَلَا وَإِنَّهَا الْعِشَاءُ وَإِنَّهُمْ يُعْتِمُونَ بِالْإِبِلِ أَوْ عَنْ الْإِبِلِ

It was narrated from Abu Salamah: I heard Ibn 'Umar (RA) (narrate) from the Prophet (PBUH) that he said: "Do not let the Bedouin overpower you with regard to the name of your Prayer [2]. It is 'Isha', but they delay milking their camels until it is very dark."

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَهِشَامٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنْ الضَّبِّ فَقَالَ لَا آكُلُهُ وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ

It was narrated from Ibn Umar and Hishaam from his Father that prophet (PBUH) was Asked about lizard (meat). He said "I do not eat it and I do not prohibit it.”

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُ أَسْرَعْتُ فَدَخَلْتُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَجَلَسْتُ فَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ حَتَّى نَزَلَ فَسَأَلْتُ النَّاسَ أَيَّ شَيْءٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالُوا نَهَى عَنْ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ أَنْ يُنْتَبَذَ فِيهِ

It was narrated from Naafi : Ibn Umar Said : I saw the massager of Allah (PBUH) on the minbar , and when I saw him , i hastened to enter the mosque and sit down . But I did not hear anything until he came down ( from the minber). I asked the prophet (PBUH) : what did the messenger of Allah (PBUH) say ? they said he forbade making nabeedh in gourds and varnished jars.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنِي مُسْلِمُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُعَاوِيِّ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَلَّبْتُ الْحَصَى فَقَالَ لَا تُقَلِّبْ الْحَصَى فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ وَلَكِنْ كَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُ كَانَ يُحَرِّكُهُ هَكَذَا قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ يَعْنِي مَسْحَةً

It was narrated that ‘Ali Ibn ‘ Abd ar-Rahmaan al-Mu'aawi said: I prayed beside Ibn 'Umar and I turned over the pebbles. He Said: Do not turn over the pebbles, for that is from the Shaytaan; rather (do) as I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) do: he used to move them like this. Abu abdullah said: meaning, he wiped over them.

عَلِیِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الْمُعَاوِیِّ ← مُسْلِمُ بْنُ اَبِیْ مَرْیَمَ، ← سُفْيَانَ،

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تُسَافِرُوا بِالْقُرْآنِ فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَنَالَهُ الْعَدُوُّ

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Do not travel with the Qur'aan, for i am afraid jest the enemy get hold of it.”

سَمِعْت سُفْيَانَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ نَذَرَ يَعْنِي أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَهُ قِيلَ لِسُفْيَانَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّ عُمَرَ نَذَرَ قَالَ نَعَمْ

Sufyaan said that he made a vow to observe i'tikaaf in al-Masjid al-Haraam. He asked the Prophet (PBUH) about it, and he told him to (go ahead and) do it. Sufyaan was asked: (Was it narrated) from Ayyoob, from Naafi', from Ibn 'Umar, that 'Umar made that vow? He said: Yes

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَبِيتَ لَيْلَتَيْنِ وَلَهُ مَا يُوصِي فِيهِ إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he said: It is the duty of every Muslim not to stay far two nights, if he has something for which a will should be made, without having his will written with him.
