حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی التَّمِيمِيُّ وَأَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَائِ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَی قَالَ يَحْيَی أَخْبَرَنَا و قَالَ الْآخَرَانِ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ نَفَّسَ عَنْ مُؤْمِنٍ کُرْبَةً مِنْ کُرَبِ الدُّنْيَا نَفَّسَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ کُرْبَةً مِنْ کُرَبِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَنْ يَسَّرَ عَلَی مُعْسِرٍ يَسَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمَنْ سَتَرَ مُسْلِمًا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَاللَّهُ فِي عَوْنِ الْعَبْدِ مَا کَانَ الْعَبْدُ فِي عَوْنِ أَخِيهِ وَمَنْ سَلَکَ طَرِيقًا يَلْتَمِسُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَهَّلَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا إِلَی الْجَنَّةِ وَمَا اجْتَمَعَ قَوْمٌ فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِ اللَّهِ يَتْلُونَ کِتَابَ اللَّهِ وَيَتَدَارَسُونَهُ بَيْنَهُمْ إِلَّا نَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ السَّکِينَةُ وَغَشِيَتْهُمْ الرَّحْمَةُ وَحَفَّتْهُمْ الْمَلَائِکَةُ وَذَکَرَهُمْ اللَّهُ فِيمَنْ عِنْدَهُ وَمَنْ بَطَّأَ بِهِ عَمَلُهُ لَمْ يُسْرِعْ بِهِ نَسَبُهُ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: He who alleviates the suffering of a brother out of the sufferings of the world, Allah would alleviate his suffering from the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection, and he who finds relief for one who is hard-pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, Allah would conceal his faults in the world and in the Hereafter. Allah is at the back of a servant so long as the servant is at the back of his brother, and he who treads the path in search of knowledge, Allah would make that path easy, leading to Paradise for him and those persons who assemble in the house among the houses of Allah (mosques) and recite the Book of Allah and they learn and teach the Qur'an (among themselves) there would descend upon them tranquility and mercy would cover them and the angels would surround them and Allah mentions them in the presence of those near Him, and he who is slow-paced in doing good deeds, his (high) lineage does not make him go ahead.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَوَکِيعٌ ح و حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْأَشَجُّ أَخْبَرَنَا وَکِيعٌ ح و حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ کُلُّهُمْ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ح و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ يَحْيَی وَأَبُو کُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِيَحْيَی قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ قَالَ جَائَ إِلَی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ تَرَکْتُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ رَجُلًا يُفَسِّرُ الْقُرْآنَ بِرَأْيِهِ يُفَسِّرُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَائُ بِدُخَانٍ مُبِينٍ قَالَ يَأْتِي النَّاسَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ دُخَانٌ فَيَأْخُذُ بِأَنْفَاسِهِمْ حَتَّی يَأْخُذَهُمْ مِنْهُ کَهَيْئَةِ الزُّکَامِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مَنْ عَلِمَ عِلْمًا فَلْيَقُلْ بِهِ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْلَمْ فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ مِنْ فِقْهِ الرَّجُلِ أَنْ يَقُولَ لِمَا لَا عِلْمَ لَهُ بِهِ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ إِنَّمَا کَانَ هَذَا أَنَّ قُرَيْشًا لَمَّا اسْتَعْصَتْ عَلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعَا عَلَيْهِمْ بِسِنِينَ کَسِنِي يُوسُفَ فَأَصَابَهُمْ قَحْطٌ وَجَهْدٌ حَتَّی جَعَلَ الرَّجُلُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَی السَّمَائِ فَيَرَی بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهَا کَهَيْئَةِ الدُّخَانِ مِنْ الْجَهْدِ وَحَتَّی أَکَلُوا الْعِظَامَ فَأَتَی النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتَغْفِرْ اللَّهَ لِمُضَرَ فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ هَلَکُوا فَقَالَ لِمُضَرَ إِنَّکَ لَجَرِيئٌ قَالَ فَدَعَا اللَّهَ لَهُمْ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِنَّا کَاشِفُوا الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلًا إِنَّکُمْ عَائِدُونَ قَالَ فَمُطِرُوا فَلَمَّا أَصَابَتْهُمْ الرَّفَاهِيَةُ قَالَ عَادُوا إِلَی مَا کَانُوا عَلَيْهِ قَالَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَائُ بِدُخَانٍ مُبِينٍ يَغْشَی النَّاسَ هَذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْکُبْرَی إِنَّا مُنْتَقِمُونَ قَالَ يَعْنِي يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ

Masruq reported that there came to Abdullah a person and said: I have left behind in the mosque a man who explains the Qur'an according to his personal discretion and he explained this verse: So wait for the day when the Heaven brings a clear smoke. He says that a smoke would come to the people on the Day of Resurrection anl it will withhold breath and they would be inflicted with cold. 'Abdullah said: He who has knowledge should say something and he who has no knowledge should simply say: Allah is best aware. This reflects the understanding of a person that he should say about that which he does not know that it is Allah who knows best. The fact is that when the Quraish disobeyed Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) he supplicated Allah that they should be afflicted with famine and starvation as was done in case of Yusuf. And they were so much hard pressed that a person would ace the sky and he would see between him and the sky something like smoke and they were so much hard pressed that they began to cat the bones, and a person came to Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and said: Allah's Messenger. seek forgiveness for the tribe of Mudar for (its people) have been undone. The Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: For Mudar? You are overbold, but he supplicated Allah for them. It was upon this that this verse was revealed: We shall remove the chastisement a little, but they will surely return to evil (xliv. 15). lie (the narrator) said: There was a downpoor of rain upon them. When there was some relief for them they returned to the same position as they had been before, and Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed this verse: So wait for the day when the heaven brings a clear smoke enveloping people. This is a grievous torment on the day when We seize them with the most violent seizing; surely, We shall exact retribution. And this (seizing) implied (Battle) of Badr.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی قَالَ کُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَجْهَرُونَ بِالتَّکْبِيرِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ ارْبَعُوا عَلَی أَنْفُسِکُمْ إِنَّکُمْ لَيْسَ تَدْعُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا إِنَّکُمْ تَدْعُونَ سَمِيعًا قَرِيبًا وَهُوَ مَعَکُمْ قَالَ وَأَنَا خَلْفَهُ وَأَنَا أَقُولُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ فَقَالَ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّکَ عَلَی کَنْزٍ مِنْ کُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ بَلَی يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ قُلْ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

Abu Musa reported: We were along with Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) on a journey when the people began to pronounce Allahu Akbar in a loud voice. Thereupon Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: O people, show mercy to yourselves for you are not calling One who is deaf or absent. Verily, you are calling One who is All-Hearing (and) Near to you and is with you. Abu Musa said that he had been behind him (the Prophet) and reciting: There is neither might nor power but that of Allah. He (the Prophet), while addressing 'Abdullah b. Qais, said: Should I not direct you to a treasure from amongst the treasures of Paradise? I ('Abdullah b. Qais) said: Allah's Messenger, do it, of course. Thereupon he (the Prophet) said: Then recite: There is no might and no power but that of Allah.

أَقُولُ: لا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلا بِاللهِ، ← خَلْفَهُ ← کُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ فِي سَفَرٍ فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَجْهَرُونَ ← اَبِیْ مُوْسیٰ ← أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ← عَاصِمٍ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ← أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو کَامِلٍ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ حَدَّثَنَا التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی أَنَّهُمْ کَانُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُمْ يَصْعَدُونَ فِي ثَنِيَّةٍ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ رَجُلٌ کُلَّمَا عَلَا ثَنِيَّةً نَادَی لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَکْبَرُ قَالَ فَقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّکُمْ لَا تُنَادُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا قَالَ فَقَالَ يَا أَبَا مُوسَی أَوْ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ قَيْسٍ أَلَا أَدُلُّکَ عَلَی کَلِمَةٍ مِنْ کَنْزِ الْجَنَّةِ قُلْتُ مَا هِيَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

Abu Musa reported that he (and his other companions) were climbing upon the hillock along with Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) and when any person climbed up, he pronounced (loudly): There is no god but Allah, Allah is the Greatest. Thereupon Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said: Verily, you are not supplicating One Who is deaf or absent. He said: Abu Musa or Abdullah b Qais, should I not direct you to the words (which form) the treasure of Paradise? I said: Allah's Messenger, what are these? He said: There is no might and no power but that of Allah.

نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ إِنَّکُمْ لَا تُنَادُونَ أَصَمَّ وَلَا غَائِبًا ← فَجَعَلَ رَجُلٌ کُلَّمَا عَلَا ثَنِيَّةً نَادَی لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ أَکْبَرُ ← أَبِي مُوسَی أَنَّهُمْ کَانُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَهُمْ يَصْعَدُونَ فِي ثَنِيَّةٍ ← أَبِي عُثْمَانَ ← التَّيْمِيِّ ← يَزِيدُ -يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ- ← أَبُو کَامِلٍ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ غِيَاثٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُثْمَانَ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَی الْأَشْعَرِيِّ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَلَا أَدُلُّکَ عَلَی کَلِمَةٍ مِنْ کُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ أَوْ قَالَ عَلَی کَنْزٍ مِنْ کُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ بَلَی فَقَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

Abu Musa Ash'ari reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said to him: Should I not direct you to the words from the treasures of Paradise, or he said: Like a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? I said: Of course, do that. Thereupon he said: There is no might and no power but that of Allah.

لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاَللَّهِ. ← عَلَی کَنْزٍ مِنْ کُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ فَقُلْتُ بَلَی ← لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَلَا أَدُلُّکَ عَلَی کَلِمَةٍ مِنْ کُنُوزِ الْجَنَّةِ أَوْ ← أَبِي مُوسَی الأَشْعَرِيِّ ← أَبُو عُثْمَانَ ← عُثْمَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ غِيَاثٍ ← النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ← إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَکَ وَتَعَالَی لِأَهْوَنِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ عَذَابًا لَوْ کَانَتْ لَکَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا أَکُنْتَ مُفْتَدِيًا بِهَا فَيَقُولُ نَعَمْ فَيَقُولُ قَدْ أَرَدْتُ مِنْکَ أَهْوَنَ مِنْ هَذَا وَأَنْتَ فِي صُلْبِ آدَمَ أَنْ لَا تُشْرِکَ أَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ وَلَا أُدْخِلَکَ النَّارَ فَأَبَيْتَ إِلَّا الشِّرْکَ

Anas b. Malik reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Allah, the Exalted and High, would say to one who shall have to undergo the least torture (on the Day of Resurrection): Would you like to go as ransom if you had all worldly riches; he would say: Yes. Allah would say to him: When you were in the loins of Adam, I demanded from you something easier than this that you should not associate anything with Me. (The narrator says): I think He also said: I would not cause you to enter Hell-Fire but you defied and attributed Divinity (to others besides Me).

اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← أَبِي ← عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ،

حَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِکٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ إِلَّا قَوْلَهُ وَلَا أُدْخِلَکَ النَّارَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْکُرْهُ

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Anas b. Malik through another chain of transmitters, but with a slight variation of wording (and the words are): I shall cause him to enter Hell. (The words subsequent to these) have not been mentioned.

النَّبِيِّ بِمِثْلِهِ إِلَّا قَوْلَهُ وَلَا أُدْخِلَکَ النَّارَ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَذْکُرْهُ ← اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← أَبِي عِمْرَانَ، ← شُعْبَةُ، ← مُحَمَّدٌ -يَعْنِي ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ-، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ وَإِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّی وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ إِسْحَقُ أَخْبَرَنَا و قَالَ الْآخَرُونَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يُقَالُ لِلْکَافِرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ کَانَ لَکَ مِلْئُ الْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا أَکُنْتَ تَفْتَدِي بِهِ فَيَقُولُ نَعَمْ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ قَدْ سُئِلْتَ أَيْسَرَ مِنْ ذَلِکَ

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be u n him) said: It would be said to the non-believers on the Day of Resurrection: If you were to possess gold, filling the whole earth, would you like to secure your freedom by paying that? He would say: Yes. Thereupon it would be said to him: Something easier (than this) was demanded from you (but you paid no heed to it).

اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← قَتَادَةَ ← أَبِي ← مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ← الْآخَرُونَ ← و، ← إِسْحَقُ ← ابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ← إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ← عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ،

حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِزُهَيْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِکٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ کَيْفَ يُحْشَرُ الْکَافِرُ عَلَی وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ الَّذِي أَمْشَاهُ عَلَی رِجْلَيْهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا قَادِرًا عَلَی أَنْ يُمْشِيَهُ عَلَی وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ قَتَادَةُ بَلَی وَعِزَّةِ رَبِّنَا

Anas b. Malik reported that a person said: Allah's Messenger, how the non-believers be made to assemble on the Day of Resurrection (by crawling) on their faces? Thereupon he said: Is He Who is powerful to make them walk on their feet not powerful enough to make them (crawl) upon their faces on the Day of Resurrection? Qatada said: Of course, it is so. (He adjured): By the might of our Lord.

أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ: أَنَّ رَجُلًا ← قَتَادَةَ ← شَيْبَانَ ← يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ← زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِزُهَيْرٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُؤْتَى بِأَنْعَمِ أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُصْبَغُ فِي النَّارِ صَبْغَةً ثُمَّ يُقَالُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ هَلْ رَأَيْتَ خَيْرًا قَطُّ هَلْ مَرَّ بِكَ نَعِيمٌ قَطُّ فَيَقُولُ لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَبِّ وَيُؤْتَى بِأَشَدِّ النَّاسِ بُؤْسًا فِي الدُّنْيَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَيُصْبَغُ صَبْغَةً فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَيُقَالُ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ هَلْ رَأَيْتَ بُؤْسًا قَطُّ هَلْ مَرَّ بِكَ شِدَّةٌ قَطُّ فَيَقُولُ لَا وَاللَّهِ يَا رَبِّ مَا مَرَّ بِي بُؤْسٌ قَطُّ وَلَا رَأَيْتُ شِدَّةً قَطُّ

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) said that one amongst the denizens of Hell who had led a life of ease and plenty amongst the people of the world would be made to dip in Fire only once on the Day of Resurrection and then it would be said to him: O, son of Adam, did you find any comfort, did you happen to get any material blessing? He would say: By Allah, no, my Lord. And then that person from amongst the persons of the world be brought who had led the most miserable life (in the world) from amongst the inmates of Paradise. and he would be made to dip once in Paradise and it would be said to him. 0, son of Adam, did you face, any hardship? Or had any distress fallen to your lot? And he would say: By Allah, no,0 my Lord, never did I face any hardship or experience any distress.

اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ← حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ← يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ← عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو کُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِأَبِي بَکْرٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ کَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلَائِ الدَّعَوَاتِ اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْغِنَی وَمِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْفَقْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ شَرِّ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْ خَطَايَايَ بِمَائِ الثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّ قَلْبِي مِنْ الْخَطَايَا کَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْأَبْيَضَ مِنْ الدَّنَسِ وَبَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ کَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ الْکَسَلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ

A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) used to make these supplications: O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from the trial of Hell-Fire; and from the torment of Hell-Fire; and from the trial of the grave and torment of the grave; and from the evil of the trial of the affluence and from the evil of the trial of poverty and I seek refuge in Thee from the evil of the turmoil of the Dajjal. O Allah, wash away my sins with snow and hail water, purify my heart from the sins as is purified the white garment from the dirt, and keep away at a distance the sins from me as yawns the distance between the East and the West; O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from sloth, from senility, from sin, and from debt.

عَائِشَةَ ← أَبِيهِ ← هِشَامٍ ← ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ← أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو کُرَيْبٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لِأَبِي بَکْرٍ

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِکٍ قَالَ کَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ الْعَجْزِ وَالْکَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Hisham with the same chain of transmitters.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ← اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ، ← ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، ← يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ الْعَمِّيُّ حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ الْأَعْوَرُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ الْحَبْحَابِ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ کَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلَائِ الدَّعَوَاتِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِکَ مِنْ الْبُخْلِ وَالْکَسَلِ وَأَرْذَلِ الْعُمُرِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ

Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace he upon him) wed to make this supplication: O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from miserliness, from sloth and from decrepitude.

أَنَسٍ، ← شُعَيْبِ بْنِ الْحَبْحَابِ، ← هَارُونُ الْأَعْوَرُ ← بَهْزُ بْنُ أَسَدٍ الْعَمِّيُّ ← أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُدْخِلُهُ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ فَقِيلَ وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي رَبِّي بِرَحْمَةٍ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: There is none whose deeds alone would entitle him to get into Paradise. It was said to him: And, Allah's Messenger, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that my Lord wraps me in Mercy.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← مُحَمَّدٍ ← أَيُّوبَ، ← حَمَّادٌ -يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ-، ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبَّادٍ يَحْيَی بْنُ عَبَّادٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَی عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ أَحَدًا مِنْکُمْ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِيَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِفَضْلٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: None amongst you can get. into Paradise by virtue of his deeds alone. They said: Allah's Messenger, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah should wrap me in His Grace and Mercy.

أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَی عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ← ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ← إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ← أَبُو عَبَّادٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ

حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ لَا يُدْخِلُ أَحَدًا مِنْکُمْ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُجِيرُهُ مِنْ النَّارِ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْ اللَّهِ

Jabir reported: I heard Allah's Apoetle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: None of you would get into Paradise because of his good deeds alone, and he would not be rescued from Fire, not even I, but because of the Mercy of Allah.

إِلَّا بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْ اللَّهِ ← لَا يُدْخِلُ أَحَدًا مِنْکُمْ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُجِيرُهُ مِنْ النَّارِ وَلَا ← النَّبِيِّ ← جَابِرٍ ← أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ← مَعْقِلٌ، ← الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ← سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ح و حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَی بْنُ عُقْبَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهَا کَانَتْ تَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا فَإِنَّهُ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَحَدًا عَمَلُهُ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِيَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَحَبَّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَی اللَّهِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ

A'isha, the wife of Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ), reported that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) used to say: Observe moderation (in doing deeds), and if you fail to observe it perfectly, try to do as much as you can do (to live up to this ideal of moderation) and be happy for none would be able to get into Paradise because of his deeds alone. They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Allah's Messenger, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah wraps me in His Mercy, and bear this in mind that the deed loved most by Allah is one which is done constantly even though it is small.

عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ أَنَّهَا کَانَتْ تَقُولُ ← أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ← مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ← وُهَيْبٌ، ← بَهْزٌ ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ← و، ← مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ، ← عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ← إِسْحَقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ وَحُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حُفَّتْ الْجَنَّةُ بِالْمَکَارِهِ وَحُفَّتْ النَّارُ بِالشَّهَوَاتِ

Anas b. Malik reported: The Paradise is surrounded by hardships and the Hell-Fire is surrounded by temptations.

اَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِکٍ، ← ثَابِتٍ وَحُمَيْدٌ ← حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ← عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ بْنِ قَعْنَبٍ

حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ وَهَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو صَخْرٍ أَنَّ أَبَا حَازِمٍ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ يَقُولُا شَهِدْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَجْلِسًا وَصَفَ فِيهِ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّی انْتَهَی ثُمَّ قَالَ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي آخِرِ حَدِيثِهِ فِيهَا مَا لَا عَيْنٌ رَأَتْ وَلَا أُذُنٌ سَمِعَتْ وَلَا خَطَرَ عَلَی قَلْبِ بَشَرٍ ثُمَّ اقْتَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ تَتَجَافَی جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنْ الْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌ مَا أُخْفِيَ لَهُمْ مِنْ قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍ جَزَائً بِمَا کَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ

Sahl b. Sa'd as-Sa'idi reported: I was in the company of Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) that he gave a description of Paradise and then Allah's Apostle ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) concluded with these words: There would be bounties which the eye has not seen and the ear has not heard and no human heart has ever perceived them. He then recited this verse: They forsake (their) beds, calling upon their Lord in fear and in hope, and spend out of what We have given them. So no soul knows what refreshment of the eyes is hidden for them: a reward for what they did (xxxii. 16-17)

أبو صخر أن أبا حازم ← ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ← هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ وَهَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ

حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَشَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاکِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: In Paradise, there is a tree under the shadow of which a rider can travel for a hundred years.

إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ لَشَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاکِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ ← رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أَنَّهُ ← أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ← أَبِيهِ ← سَعِیْدِ بْنِ اَبِیْ سَعِیْدٍ الْمَقْبُرِیِّ ← لَيْثٌ، ← قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ
