حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَحَمَّتْ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ فَضْلِهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي اغْتَسَلْتُ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْمَاءَ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that one of the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) washed herself following janabah, then the Prophet (PBUH) came and did wudoo' using her left over water. She said: I did ghusl using it. He said: "Nothing makes water vajis (impure)'’.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ زَيْدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ حَرْمَلَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ أَهْدَتْ خَالَتِي أُمُّ حُفَيْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَمْنًا وَلَبَنًا وَأَضُبًّا فَأَمَّا الْأَضُبُّ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَفَلَ عَلَيْهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَذِرْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ أَوْ أَجَلْ وَأَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّبَنَ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ أَمَا إِنَّ الشَّرْبَةَ لَكَ وَلَكِنْ أَتَأْذَنُ أَنْ أَسْقِيَ عَمَّكَ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قُلْتُ لَا وَاللَّهِ مَا أَنَا بِمُؤْثِرٍ عَلَى سُؤْرِكَ أَحَدًا قَالَ فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَشَرِبْتُ ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا أَعْلَمُ شَرَابًا يُجْزِئُ عَنْ الطَّعَامِ غَيْرَ اللَّبَنِ فَمَنْ شَرِبَهُ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ وَمَنْ طَعِمَ طَعَامًا فَلْيَقُلْ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَأَطْعِمْنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُ

' Umar bin Harmalah said: I heard I bn 'Abbas (RA) say: My maternal aunt Umm Hufaid gave the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) some ghee, milk and a (cooked) lizard. As for the lizard, the Prophet (PBUH)found it off-putting. Khalid bin al- Waleed said to him: Do you find it off-putting, O Messenger of Allah? He said, "Yes." The Prophet (PBUH)took the milk and drank some, then he said to Ibn 'Abbas, who was on his right, "As for the drink, it is your turn, but will you give me permission to give it to your paternal uncle?" Ibn 'Abbas said: I said: No, by Allah, with regard to your left-over drink I will never give precedence to anyone. Then I took it and drank some, then I gave it to him. Then the Prophet (PBUH) said: "I do not know of any drink that could replace food except milk. Whoever among you drinks it, let him say: 'O Allah, bless it for us and give us more.' And who- ever eats food, let him say: 'O Allah, bless it for us and give us something better than it.'"

لَهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَذِرْتَهُ ← لَبَنًا وَأَضُبًّا فَأَمَّا الْأَضُبُّ فَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ تَفَلَ عَلَيْهَا ← أَهْدَتْ خَالَتِي أُمُّ حُفَيْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ سَمْنًا ← ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عَمْر بن حرملة، ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَجَدْتُ هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ كُرَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا شَرِبَ تَنَفَّسَ مَرَّتَيْنِ فِي الشَّرَابِ وَكَتَبَ أَبِي فِي أَثَرِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ لَا أُرَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ سَمِعَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: When the Messenger of Allah drank, he would pause to breathe twice whilst drinking. And my father wrote after this hadeeth: I do not think 'Abdullah heard this hadeeth (directly).

هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ ← أَبِي فِي أَثَرِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ لَا أُرَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ← كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِذَا شَرِبَ تَنَفَّسَ مَرَّتَيْنِ فِي الشَّرَابِ ← ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← أَبِيهِ ← رِشْدِينِ بْنِ کُرَيْبٍ ← سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَرَّاقُ ← أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَجَدْتُ هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثَ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطِّ يَدِهِ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ بَيْعِ الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَسْتَوْفِيَهُ أَوْ يُسْتَوْفَى و قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَحْسِبُ الْبُيُوعَ كُلَّهَا بِمَنْزِلَتِهِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade selling food- stuff until one has taken full possession of it. Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: I think all sales are like this.

ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَحْسِبُ الْبُيُوعَ كُلَّهَا بِمَنْزِلَتِهِ ← بَيْعِ الطَّعَامِ حَتَّى يَسْتَوْفِيَهُ أَوْ يُسْتَوْفَى و ← «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ← ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← طَاوْسٍ ← عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ← شُعْبَةُ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ وَيَقُولُ إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزَوَّجَ مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتَ الْحَارِثِ بِمَاءٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ سَرِفُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ فَلَمَّا قَضَى نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَجَّهُ أَقْبَلَ حَتَّى كَانَ بِذَلِكَ الْمَاءِ أَعْرَسَ بِهَا

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that he did not see anything wrong with a man getting married whilst in ihram , and he said: The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) married Maimoonah bint al- Harith at an oasis called Sarif when he was in ihram. When the Prophet of Allah (PBUH) completed his Hajj, when he came to that oasis, he consummated his marriage with her.

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَا يَرَى بَأْسًا أَنْ يَتَزَوَّجَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ ← عِكْرِمَةَ، ← يَعْلَى بْنَ حَكِيمٍ ← سَعِيدٌ، ← مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ عَنْ حَنَشٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ فَيُهَرِيقُ الْمَاءَ فَيَتَمَسَّحُ بِالتُّرَابِ فَأَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمَاءَ مِنْكَ قَرِيبٌ فَيَقُولُ وَمَا يُدْرِينِي لَعَلِّي لَا أَبْلُغُهُ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to go out to pass water, then he would wipe his hands with dust. I said: O Messenger of Allah, water is close to you. He said: "How do I know? I may never reach it."

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← حنش ← عبد الله بن هبيرة ← ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ← عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ← عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو جَمْرَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَدْفَعُ النَّاسَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَاحْتَبَسْتُ أَيَّامًا فَقَالَ مَا حَبَسَكَ قُلْتُ الْحُمَّى قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْحُمَّى مِنْ فَيْحِ جَهَنَّمَ فَأَبْرِدُوهَا بِمَاءِ زَمْزَمَ

Abu Jamrah told us: I was pushing people back from Ibn 'Abbas (RA), then I stayed away for a few days and he said: What kept you away? I said: Fever. He said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH)said: "Fever is from the exhalation of Hell, so cool it down with Zamzam water."

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، فَاحْتَبَسْتُ أَيَّامًا، فَقَالَ: مَا حَبَسَكَ؟ قُلْتُ: الْحُمَّى، ← كُنْتُ أَدْفَعُ النَّاسَ ← أَبُو جَمْرَةَ، ← هَمَّامٌ، ← عَفَّانُ،

حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الشُّرْبِ مِنْ فِي السِّقَاءِ وَعَنْ الْمُجَثَّمَةِ وَعَنْ لَبَنِ الْجَلَّالَةِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) forbade drinking (directly) from the mouth of waterskin, (eating) an animal that has been tied up and shot at, and (drinking) the milk of animals that feed on filth.

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عِكْرِمَةَ، ← قَتَادَةَ ← أَبِي ← مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ الطَّعَامِ فَلَا يَمْسَحْ يَدَهُ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا قَالَ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلَا يَرْفَعْ الصَّحْفَةَ حَتَّى يَلْعَقَهَا أَوْ يُلْعِقَهَا فَإِنَّ آخِرَ الطَّعَامِ فِيهِ الْبَرَكَةُ

It was narrated that Ibn Jurai] said: 'Ata' told me that he heard Ibn 'Abbas (RA) say: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "When one of you eats food, let him not wipe his hand until he has licked it or had it licked for him." Abuz-Zubair said: I heard Jabir bin 'Abdullah say that: I heard it from the Prophet (PBUH):"Let the meal not be cleared away until he licks it [his hand] or has it licked for him, for the last of the food is where the barakah (blessing) is."

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عَطَاءٌ، اَنَّہٗ ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ جَاءَتْ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ ابْنَةُ الْحَارِثِ بِأُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتِ عَبَّاسٍ فَوَضَعَتْهَا فِي حِجْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَالَتْ فَاخْتَلَجَتْهَا أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ ثُمَّ لَكَمَتْ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهَا ثُمَّ اخْتَلَجَتْهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَعْطِينِي قَدَحًا مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَى مَبَالِهَا ثُمَّ قَالَ اسْلُكُوا الْمَاءَ فِي سَبِيلِ الْبَوْلِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: Ummul-Fadl, the daughter of al-Harith brought Umm Habeebah bint 'Abbas and put her in the lap of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), and she (the child) urinated. Ummul-Fadl snatched her up and smacked her between her shoulders, then she took her away. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Give me a cup of water." And he poured it over the spot where she had urinated, then he said: "Pour water over the urine [on the ground]."

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عِكْرِمَةَ، ← حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ ← مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ← عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ ← أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الْمَدَائِنِيَّ

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ وَمُوسَى بْنُ دَاوُدَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هُبَيْرَةَ قَالَ يَحْيَى عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ مُوسَى عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ حَنَشٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ فَيُهَرِيقُ الْمَاءَ فَيَتَمَسَّحُ بِالتُّرَابِ فَأَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمَاءَ مِنْكَ قَرِيبٌ قَالَ مَا أَدْرِي لَعَلِّي لَا أَبْلُغُهُ

قَالَ يَحْيَى مَرَّةً أُخْرَى كُنْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَخَرَجَ فَأُهْرَاقَ الْمَاءَ فَتَيَمَّمَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّ الْمَاءَ مِنَّا قَرِيبٌ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to go out to pass water, then he would wipe his hands with dust. I would say: O Messenger of Allah, water is close to you. حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ كَانَ إِذَا اغْتَسَلَ مِنْ الْجَنَابَةِ أَفْرَغَ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى الْيُسْرَى فَغَسَلَهَا سَبْعًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُدْخِلَهَا فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَنَسِيَ مَرَّةً كَمْ أَفْرَغَ عَلَى يَدِهِ فَسَأَلَنِي كَمْ أَفْرَغْتُ فَقُلْتُ لَا أَدْرِي فَقَالَ لَا أُمَّ لَكَ وَلِمَ لَا تَدْرِي ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ يُفِيضُ الْمَاءَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَجَسَدِهِ قَالَ هَكَذَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَطَهَّرُ يَعْنِي يَغْتَسِلُ

It was narrated from Shu'bah, the freed slave of lbn 'Abbas: When lbn 'Abbas (RA) did ghusl in the case of janabah, he would scoop water with his right hand onto his left and wash it seven times before putting it into the vessel. On one occasion he forgot how many times he had scooped water onto his hand, so he asked me [Shu'bahj: How many times did I scoop water? I said: I do not know. He said: May you be bereft of your mother! Why don't you know? Then he did wudoo' as for prayer, then he poured water over his head and body. He said: This is how the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to purify himself, i.e., do ghusL

ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ← يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَحَمَّتْ مِنْ جَنَابَةٍ فَجَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَحِمُّ مِنْ فَضْلِهَا فَقَالَتْ إِنِّي اغْتَسَلْتُ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ الْمَاءَ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that one of the wives of the Prophet (PBUH) did ghusl following janabah. Then the Prophet came and did ghusl with her left over water. She said: I did ghusl from it. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Nothing makes water najis (impure)."

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَاءُ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said; "Nothing makes water najis (impure)."

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عِكْرِمَةَ، ← سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ← سُفْيَانَ، ← وَكِيعٌ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ النَّفْخِ فِي الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade blowing onto food and drink.

النَّفْخِ فِي الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ ← «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ← ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عِكْرِمَةَ، ← عَبْدِ الْکَرِيمِ ← اِسْرَائِیْلُ ← عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَنْبَأَنَا عَطَاءٌ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ إِنْ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا يَغْدُوَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ حَتَّى يَطْعَمَ فَلْيَفْعَلْ قَالَ فَلَمْ أَدَعْ أَنْ آكُلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ أَغْدُوَ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَآكُلَ مِنْ طَرَفِ الصَّرِيقَةِ الْأَكْلَةَ أَوْ أَشْرَبَ اللَّبَنَ أَوْ الْمَاءَ قُلْتُ فَعَلَامَ يُؤَوَّلُ هَذَا قَالَ سَمِعَهُ أَظُنُّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كَانُوا لَا يَخْرُجُونَ حَتَّى يَمْتَدَّ الضَّحَاءُ فَيَقُولُونَ نَطْعَمُ لِئَلَّا نَعْجَلَ عَنْ صَلَاتِنَا

' Ata' narrated that he heard Ibn 'Abbas (RA) say: If one of you could manage not to go out on the day of al-Fitr until he eats some- thing, let him do so. He ['Ata'] said: I never omitted to eat before going out since I heard that from Ibn 'Abbas. I eat a little from the edge of the pastry or drink some milk or water, I [the narrator] said: What was the reason for that? He said: I heard him say, I think he narrated it from the Prophet (PBUH): They did not go out until late morning, so they said: We should eat so that we will not have to hasten in our prayer.

عَطَاءٍ، ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ،

حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَدَاوُدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَزِيدُ أَحَدُهُمَا عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ أَنَّ رَجُلًا نَادَى ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ وَالنَّاسُ حَوْلَهُ فَقَالَ أَسُنَّةً تَبْتَغُونَ بِهَذَا النَّبِيذِ أَمْ هُوَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ اللَّبَنِ وَالْعَسَلِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ جَاءَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَبَّاسًا فَقَالَ اسْقُونَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذَا النَّبِيذَ شَرَابٌ قَدْ مُغِثَ وَمُرِثَ أَفَلَا نَسْقِيكَ لَبَنًا أَوْ عَسَلًا قَالَ اسْقُونَا مِمَّا تَسْقُونَ مِنْهُ النَّاسَ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ أَصْحَابُهُ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ بِسِقَاءَيْنِ فِيهِمَا النَّبِيذُ فَلَمَّا شَرِبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَجِلَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْوَى فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ أَحْسَنْتُمْ هَكَذَا فَاصْنَعُوا قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَرِضَا رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَلِكَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ تَسِيلَ شِعَابُهَا لَبَنًا وَعَسَلًا

Husain bin 'Abdullah bin 'Ubaiduliah bin 'Abbas and Dawood bin 'Ali bin 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas narrated, one of them adding to the report of his companion, that a man called out to Ibn 'Abbas, when the people were around him; Are you following the Sunn ah with regard to this nabcedh, or is it easier for you than milk and honey? Ibn 'Abbas (PBUH) said: The Prophet (PBUH) came to 'Abbas and said: "Give us something to drink." He said: This nabeedh is something that has been steeped and soaked; shouldn't we give you milk or honey? He said: "Give us what you give to others." So two skins filled with nabeedh were brought to the Prophet who had his Companions of the Muhajireen and Ansar with him. When the Prophet (PBUH) drank, he stopped drinking before his thirst was quenched. He raised his head and said: "You have done well. This is what you should do." Ibn 'Abbas (RA) said: The approval of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was dearer to me than seeing these mountain passes flowing with milk and honey.

دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ يَزِيدُ أَحَدُهُمَا عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ ← حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ← ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ← رَوْحٌ،

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْمُجَثَّمَةِ وَعَنْ لَبَنِ الْجَلَّالَةِ وَعَنْ الشُّرْبِ مِنْ فِي السِّقَاءِ

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) forbade [eating] a bird that had been used as a target and the milk of an animal that feeds on filth, and drinking from the mouth of the water skin.

ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ← عِكْرِمَةَ، ← قَتَادَةَ ← هِشَامٍ ← عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ

حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ حَسَنٍ الْأَشْقَرُ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُدَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ مَرَّ يَهُودِيٌّ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ كَيْفَ تَقُولُ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ يَوْمَ يَجْعَلُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى السَّمَاءَ عَلَى ذِهْ وَأَشَارَ بِالسَّبَّابَةِ وَالْأَرْضَ عَلَى ذِهْ وَالْمَاءَ عَلَى ذِهْ وَالْجِبَالَ عَلَى ذِهْ وَسَائِرَ الْخَلَائِقِ عَلَى ذِهْ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يُشِيرُ بِإِصْبَعِهِ قَالَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ الْآيَةَ

It was narrated that Ibn Abbas (RA) said: A jewish man passed by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) as he was sitting and said: What will you say, O Abul- Qasim, on the Day when Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, puts the heaven on this - and he gestured with his forefinger - and the earth on this, and the water on this, and the mountains on this, and all of creation on this - ail whilst gesturing with his fingers. Then Allah, may He be blessed and exalted, revealed the words: "They made not a just estimate of Allah such as is due to Him... 77 [az-Zumar 39:67].
