حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْکَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلی الله عليه وسلم عَلَيْکُمْ بِالإِثْمِدِ عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ فَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ

Jaabir bin 'Abdullah Radiyallahu 'Anhu says: "Rasulullah Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam said: 'Use the kuhl made from ithmid for the eyes. It brightens the vision and strengthens the growth of the eye lashes'.
