عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَیْجٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ : أَکَانَ النَّبِیُّ صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْہِ وَسَلَّمَ یَقُومُ عَلَی عَصًا إِذَا خَطَبَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، یَعْتَمِدُ عَلَیْھَا اعْتِمَادًا۔ أَخْرَجَ الثَّمَانِیَۃَ الأَحَادِٰثَ مِنْ کِتَابِ إِیجَابِ الْجُمُعَۃِ۔
مسند امام شافی · Hadith 443
On the authority of Ibn Jarij, he said: I said for a gift: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was standing on a stick when he preached? He said: Yes, it depends on it. Take out the eight hadiths from the book "Responding to the assembly"۔
