أَخْبَرَنَا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَی وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْمِقْسَمِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَی أَنَّ عِيسَی بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ وَقَّاصٍ قَالَ إِنِّي عِنْدَ مُعَاوِيَةَ إِذْ أَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنُهُ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ کَمَا قَالَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ حَتَّی إِذَا قَالَ حَيَّ عَلَی الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ فَلَمَّا قَالَ حَيَّ عَلَی الْفَلَاحِ قَالَ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ وَقَالَ بَعْدَ ذَلِکَ مَا قَالَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مِثْلَ ذَلِکَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 681
It was narrated that ‘Alqamah bin Waqqas said: “I was with Muawiyah when the Muadhdhin called the Adhan. Muawiyah said what the Mu ‘adhdhin said, but when he said: ‘ Hayya ‘ala (come to prayer),’ he said: ‘La Hawla wa laquwwata illa Billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah);’ and when he said: ‘ ‘alal-fala(come to prosperity),’ he said: ‘La hawla wa laquwwata illa Billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).’ After that he said what the Muadhdhin said, then he said: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم saying exactly like that.” (Sahih)
