أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَقُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ عَنْ زَکَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَقَ عَنْ الْبَرَائِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ فَصَلَّی نَحْوَ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ سِتَّةَ عَشَرَ شَهْرًا ثُمَّ إِنَّهُ وُجِّهَ إِلَی الْکَعْبَةِ فَمَرَّ رَجُلٌ قَدْ کَانَ صَلَّی مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَی قَوْمٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ وُجِّهَ إِلَی الْکَعْبَةِ فَانْحَرَفُوا إِلَی الْکَعْبَةِ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 492
It was narrated that Al-Barabin ‘Azib said: “The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم came to Al-Madinah and prayed toward Bait Al-Maqdis for sixteen months, then he was commanded to face toward the Ka’bah. A man who had prayed with the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم passed by some of the Ansar and said: ‘I bear witness that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم has been commanded to face toward the Ka’bah’ so they turned to face the Ka’bah.” (Sahih)
