أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مُوسَی بْنِ أَبِي عَائِشَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ جَائَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَی النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ الْوُضُوئِ فَأَرَاهُ الْوُضُوئَ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ هَکَذَا الْوُضُوئُ فَمَنْ زَادَ عَلَی هَذَا فَقَدْ أَسَائَ وَتَعَدَّی وَظَلَمَ
سنن نسائی · Hadith 142
It was narrated from ‘Amr bin Shuaib, from his father, that his grandfather said: “A Bedouin came to the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم to ask him about Wudu’, so he showed him how to perform Wudu’, washing each part three times, then he said: ‘This is Wudu’. Whoever does more than that has done badly, gone to extremes and done wrong.” (Hasan)
