حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَی الرَّازِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا ح و حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْمَعْنَی وَأَنَا لِحَدِيثِهِ أَتْقَنُ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ عَنْ يَحْيَی بْنِ جَابِرٍ الطَّائِيِّ عَنْ ابْنِ أَخِي أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ سَتُفْتَحُ عَلَيْکُمْ الْأَمْصَارُ وَسَتَکُونُ جُنُودٌ مُجَنَّدَةٌ تُقْطَعُ عَلَيْکُمْ فِيهَا بُعُوثٌ فَيَکْرَهُ الرَّجُلُ مِنْکُمْ الْبَعْثَ فِيهَا فَيَتَخَلَّصُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ ثُمَّ يَتَصَفَّحُ الْقَبَائِلَ يَعْرِضُ نَفْسَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَکْفِيهِ بَعْثَ کَذَا مَنْ أَکْفِيهِ بَعْثَ کَذَا أَلَا وَذَلِکَ الْأَجِيرُ إِلَی آخِرِ قَطْرَةٍ مِنْ دَمِهِ
سنن ابودوٗد · Hadith 2525
Narrated Abu Ayyub al-Ansari: Abu Ayyub heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Capitals will be conquered at your hands, and you will have to raise companies in large armies. A man will be unwilling to join a company, so he will escape from his people and go round the tribes offering himself to them, saying: Whose place may I take in such and such expedition? Whose place may I take in such and such expedition? Beware: That man is a hireling to the last drop of his blood.
