حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِکُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ کَعْبٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ کَانَ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا نَسَمَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ طَائِرٌ يَعْلُقُ فِي شَجَرِ الْجَنَّةِ حَتَّی يَرْجِعَ إِلَی جَسَدِهِ يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ
ابن ماجہ · Hadith 4271
It was narrated from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Ka'b AIAnsari that his father used to narrate that the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H said: "The believer's soul is a bird that eats from the trees of Paradise, until it will be returned to his body on the Day when he is resurrected."
