حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَی حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ عِکْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ خَيْرَ مَا تَدَاوَيْتُمْ بِهِ اللَّدُودُ وَالسَّعُوطُ وَالْحِجَامَةُ وَالْمَشِيُّ وَخَيْرُ مَا اکْتَحَلْتُمْ بِهِ الْإِثْمِدُ فَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ وَکَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُکْحُلَةٌ يَکْتَحِلُ بِهَا عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ ثَلَاثًا فِي کُلِّ عَيْنٍ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَی هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ وَهُوَ حَدِيثُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ
جامع ترمذی · Hadith 2048
Ibn 'Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: Indeed the best of what you treat is As-Sa'ut, Al-Ladud, cupping and laxatives.' And the best of what you use for Kuhl is Ithmid, for it clears the vision and grows the hair (eye-lashes). And he said: The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) had a Kuhl holder with which he would apply Kuhl before sleeping three in each eye.
