حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَی عَنْ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَی عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ حَدَّثَ عَنِّي حَدِيثًا وَهُوَ يَرَی أَنَّهُ کَذِبٌ فَهُوَ أَحَدُ الْکَاذِبَيْنِ

ابن ماجہ · Hadith 38

It was narrated from ‘Ali that Prophet said (s.a.w.w): “Whoever narrates a Hadith from me thinking it to be false, then he is one of the two liars.” (Either the one who invents the lie or the one who repeats it; both are liars).
