حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قُلْنَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّکَ تَبْعَثُنَا فَنَنْزِلُ بِقَوْمٍ فَلَا يَقْرُونَا فَمَا تَرَی فِي ذَلِکَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنْ نَزَلْتُمْ بِقَوْمٍ فَأَمَرُوا لَکُمْ بِمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلضَّيْفِ فَاقْبَلُوا وَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَخُذُوا مِنْهُمْ حَقَّ الضَّيْفِ الَّذِي يَنْبَغِي لَهُمْ
ابن ماجہ · Hadith 3676
It was narrated that 'Uqbah bin 'Amir said: "We said to the Messenger of Allah: 'You send us and we stay with people who do not show us any hospitality. What do you think of that?' The Messenger of Allah said: 'If you stay with people and they give you what a guest deserves, then accept it. If they do not do that, then take from them what they should have offered which a guest is entitled to.'''
