حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَکْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَی بْنُ آدَمَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ کَانَ أَهْلُ الْکِتَابِ يَسْدُلُونَ أَشْعَارَهُمْ وَکَانَ الْمُشْرِکُونَ يَفْرُقُونَ وَکَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحِبُّ مُوَافَقَةَ أَهْلِ الْکِتَابِ قَالَ فَسَدَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاصِيَتَهُ ثُمَّ فَرَقَ بَعْدُ
ابن ماجہ · Hadith 3632
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbâs said: The People of the nook used to let their hair hang down, and the i used to part their hair. The Messenger of Allah liked to e more like the People of the Book. So the Messenger of Allah P.B.U.H let his forelock hang down, then after that he parted it.” (Sahih)
